Hotel Restaurante Las Camelias — Restaurant in San Roque

One of our party said " I like it here. It's real". When asked to elaborate she said " It's comfortable, clean and has friendly staff . There is no pretense in what it offers, it is warm and old-fashioned. Another guest said he had been coming to Las Camelias for 17 years and it hasn't changed much. That's why we liked it. It is a bit worn but the shower was good, air - con worked fine, wifi excellent and the restaurant was used by local people. The best bit is that this is one of the cheapest hotels in the area and just 5 minutes walk to a good beach. it has no pool but has a nice terrace to sit out on with a drink. There were several children staying during the week we were there. We drank bottled water. TVs were old fashioned but they worked! Beds were comfortable. We have no Spanish but the staff manage a bit of English. There is no lift just one flight of stairs so rooms can be a small walk away. Even when full there are some cheaper rooms you can be...

This was our second stay at Las Camelias. It’s proximity to Puerto Sotogrande is fabulous, just a short walk to the vibrant port and lovely beaches with their chiringuitos and sea sports. The hotel has a fabulous restaurant with a great menu and everything cooked there and fresh, locals frequent there and the value is excellent. We occupied a family room which is spacious with a big bathroom and jacuzzi bath. The free internet connection is fabulous. It is not a luxurious property but it’s very functional and great if you want to be out all day but have the comfort of a friendly peaceful place to retire to. Our ground floor/patio room had a little table and chairs outside, great air conditioning inside and also a mini fridge. We never had trouble parking our large car outside.
