We visited this restaurant for a dinner date, with high expectations. I should mention that we are a couple accustomed to traveling, with a strong knowledge of the hospitality and dining industry.
The restaurant itself lacks a clear identity. It’s located on a narrow, somewhat obscure road that leads to a venue with an odd mix of outdated, old-fashioned elements blended with modern features. The decor is overly contemporary, and the excessively bright lighting fails to create the right ambiance for an evening meal, leaving the space feeling impersonal and cold.
Service was practically non-existent, especially disappointing for a venue at this price point. We ordered a bottle of wine, which was never poured for us by the waiter. At the end of the meal, the coffee was practically thrown onto the table by the bartender, who was unprofessional and rude. Overall, the service didn’t meet even the basic standards expected from a high-end restaurant.
The menu offers a seafood option at 150 euros per person, in addition to an à la carte selection. The quality of the ingredients is impressive and nicely displayed at the entrance. We really enjoyed the percebes and langoustines, both excellent, while the razor clams were good.
However, we were deeply disappointed by the “spider” crab, which was actually just a common brown crab, sold at 38 euros. The difference is obvious to those with experience in seafood, and I found this attempt to mislead customers unacceptable. After one taste, I decided not to continue and expressed my dissatisfaction to the waiter, who provided an unconvincing explanation.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially for those who expect transparency, quality service, and a cohesive atmosphere from a restaurant of...
Read moreHonestly there’s this girl waitress, super nice, when we walked in, she asked if we wanted to sit in the restaurant, not knowing the price is different ,we agreed! We came to have a small bowl of fish soup at $12.50 not come and pay $28 for it! She insisted it’s the same, when we said for a table at a bar she said there wasn’t! But she just cleared a high table and move to a smaller table… so I had enough, I am on a holiday, I do not wish to feel cornered to eating here. So I said I rather take away and she was pissed, she asked if I was going to go away.. not knowing English is not a bad excuse for her bad service, she was so rude to us after when we went to the bar to order take away.. I ordered my soup and another waiter told me, it won’t be as hot as when u eat here, so I said there’s no seats here, and he showed me the high table… after sitting down and eating she started to be nicer again, but honestly not all Asian want to seat in the restaurant area, some just want to be with everyone else, because of this experience I will not recommend this place, food is...
Read moreI thought I’d booked a table online but arrived to be told I didn’t have a reservation. So beware as the website booking is not straightforward. Id asked for a table of the terrace (as this was one of the options) but we arrived to find the terrace was the street which was boarded up due to construction works outside. Not a good start.
As we were early, we were offered a table but it was needed back in 75 minutes. That was on for us so we went with it.
A few pinxos were ordered - anchovies on brioche was very disappointing. Anchovies with red peppers was much better and very tasty.
Rice with clams was too salty for my liking and the 2 grilled prawns we had had seen better days.
It was all mediocre - so much so that I forgot to take any photos!!!!
Wine was lovely and service ok but not very attentive.
Overall not the best place I’ve been - although it appeared popular and a lot of locals came in. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day or ordered wrong but in a city with such a fantastic reputation for food, there’s plenty...
