After reading recent reviews I expected this restaurant to be pretty good. But it was just okay. I would describe it as pricy comfort food.

We ordered the salad with crab to start, which was not to my liking as the crab was hot and crunchy. I ordered the grilled sirloin steak, which came much rarer than the medium-done I requested, and the dish with potatoes and peppers was overly salty. My partner ordered the baby squid, which was just okay. For dessert we had the flan and pantxineta, both of which were fine. Overall, the food was nothing special.

For the prices, the quality of the food does not compare, especially with all the other excellent restaurant options in San Sebastián. The atmosphere and service were nice, however, I would probably not return to this restaurant for the...

Incredible from the minute that we got there everyone is friendly and nice. We have an amazing dinner, I have merluza and my husband sirloin steak and everything was cook to perfection. Service to say incredible is not even close, Maia, sorry if a misspelled, so nice and knows what it's the best on the menu for suggestions. They have a problem with the credit card machine, and amazingly let us to leave and trust us that we will paid tomorrow. I leave my husband and mine name and the hotel where we are staying and that was enough. Don't let those stairs...

A narrow inconspicuous staircase leads down to the restaurant in the basement. Once downstairs, it is surprisingly cozy, bright and nicely decorated. Because of the basement location, our cell phones had no reception, which is why we had difficulty translating and understanding the daily menu. Fortunately, the waitress was extremely helpful and patient with us. Menu of the day was perfect at a very fair price. We would love to come back again.

This is a hidden gem in the San Sebastian center. It is a bit hard to find due to narrow stairs taking you downstairs. However, once you enter the restaurant, it has a very cozy atmosphere and bright ambience. The food was fresh and tasty. It tried a few Basque dishes and they were delicious. The service was warm and very quick. Make sure you try Hake Basque style.
