BEST SEAFOOD EVER!!! Came here tonight by chance and got the seafood platter. When I say EVERYTHING on that platter was the tastiest delight I mean it! (Quick side note, I didn’t write this review for a free drink, I didn’t ask for one, I genuinely was just taken a back by the seafood.) We were given so much as well! It wouldn’t even be a stretch to say it’s some on the best food I’ve ever had… I came to San Sebastián, with the pintxos in mind, however this seafood restaurant happened to be the nicest surprise, and a nice break from all the small bites! Get the seafood platter, the tomato salad and normal salad, the perfect combo.

I wasn’t sure why the Google reviews were so drastically different, so I went to check for myself. I tried the oysters — they were phenomenal — and the fish soup, which tasted like it came from a grandma’s kitchen. The txangurro a la donostiarra was the best I’ve ever had. It had much more crab than vegetables — unlike in most other places. The owner was very friendly. He told me that the restaurant still uses recipes from his great-grandmother, who originally started the business. It’s a fourth-generation family restaurant — I give them a solid five!

Hands down the worst and most overpriced meal I’ve had in the two months I’ve been in San Sebastián. These plate of 10 tiny clams cost 33 euros. It was so small, came with no sides and as not very good. My fish was super oily and around 40 Euros with no sides. A glass of house wine that at any other nice restaurant costs 3 euros, costs 15 euros here. Stay away.

We have been to this place several times during the last 10 years. Literally everytime we come to San Sebastián. Food is quite good. But portions have gotten quite smaller, maybe 30% or more. Ensalada de tomates or chipirones being the best example. Dramatic downsizing throughout the years. But worst part is the service. Waiters seem quite unhappy. We stayed until the end of the lunch shift, when we openly heard waiters being extremely rude to each other, and even drinking beer in the open. We love this place, but it seems that the current front runner (grand son of the founder), is overwhelmed and slightly losing control of things. This place has all the potential in the world, great food, location and views, but something is going on, and nota. Good thing. Leaving 4 stars because we’ve loved it for years, but objectively...

Restaurante A EVITAR TOTALMENTE.
