Casa Pantxika jatetxea — Restaurant in San Sebastián

We just had a humiliating and horrible experience here. We arrived as walk-ins at 7:45, ordered a starter, main course, desert and bottle of wine. At 9 the waiter told us he needed the table for a reservation and told us we had 5 minutes to finish: we had half a bottle of wine to finish. Then a very aggressive woman arrived with the bill, unasked: we paid but got no thank you or acknowledgement. Then the waiter arrived and started clearing the table and shouted at my wife to get out. I pointed out that nobody had told us there was a time limit on our table but he got more aggressive. We left in a hurry, embarrassed with everyone staring. Avoid this place...

Possibly is not the most fancy restaurant nor well decorated, but the food and the service was excellent. We went on a Sunday night and there were very few people (maybe because some of the reviews), but we truly enjoyed. The fish (sardines and anchovies) were great and the salad was huge and all fresh.

Also, I must add that the waiter asked us if we wanted to change tables so we had ever bigger distance with the other tables and feel safer. Gel was on the table and they ware mask during all times.

The waiters were talkative and very helpful during the dinner.

Again: nothing fancy as other restaurants in the area, but a place to repeat and...

Food ok but expensive. No sides offered and timing of food sucked !
