Thanks to a friend's recommendation we were able to find this little gem off the beaten path. This review is for the dining downstairs, we did not try their pintos. As of 2018, menu del dia is available for 18 euros which include a starter, main course, dessert and drink. We had the pasta with prawn and mushroom & Aubergine mille-feuilles (stacked eggplants with cheese) with cod for starters. The aubergine was heaven, I would come back here just for it alone. The flavors of eggplants, cod, tomatoes and cheese all melted into a piece of perfection. For the main course we got steak and whole grilled fish, simple but well-done. The flans for dessert were also quite good. One of the best meals we've had during our trip to Spain. The reasonable pricing and exceptionally friendly waiter(s) cannot be discounted. Come here now before everyone and their mom find...

Lovely-looking place inside and out, but an unexpectedly disappointing experience. While we didn’t expect fluent English, a basic level of warmth or effort to communicate is usually the norm—here, it felt like we were more of an inconvenience than welcome guests. Meanwhile, English-speaking patrons at the other end of the bar received attentive service. Oddly, there’s even an English menu displayed outside, which suggests they'd be more accommodating to non-Spanish speakers. After some confusing back-and-forth, paired with tutting, eye-rolling, and general disregard, we abandoned our pintxos order. Drinks were fine, but €8.40 for a brandy and a very small Txakoli left us feeling underwhelmed. Sadly, this was our worst service experience in San Sebastián over our three-night stay. Not a spot I'd return to...

I would like to leave a two star review for service. I would leave a one star review but I didn’t eat there so is not totally fair. I am currently standing outside the restaurant very upset because I saw the amazing menu they had and then went online to read so many great reviews. I decided what I wanted and went in to the bar where a staff member said hello to me and I said hello then she went into the kitchen. For four whole minutes I waited to be served only to have nobody serve me. Two customers were in there eating and having a great time and am really disappointed I won’t be eating here nor can I recommend it as I wouldn’t want anyone to feel the way I felt standing there like a fool waiting for service when the staff knew...

It has been my second time in this cider house. The best memory of the first was the cheese, this time they were nuts. I summarize my experience (I mean that I am not a professional gastronomic critic and that if a criticism of mine is not favorable to the restaurant, it is not to belittle it but to encourage them to improve). We start with a cod omelette for every 4 people, we continue with a cod in sauce (I do not understand what to put a cod sauce that should be fried with peppers), we continue with the meat (one cutlet for each 2 people) the meat was good but the chop would be about 700 grams. One thing if you have to improve, the second piece of meat the chop was cold, you have to invest in dish heaters or serve them to the stone. As for the cider quite normal and without strength. Let's move on to the price, 36 euros per person, a bit expensive in my opinion. I'm sorry I can not write a better review.

Found this place to try traditional basque bacalao pil pil and didn't left disappointed. The dish didn't even look like a pintxo, It could totally be a meal by itself when paired with another pintxo and bread. Other than that they got a good variety of pintxos, some of them more unique than others, but all of what we asked for was delicious. The prices are average, some pintxos like bacalao pil pil are pricier than others, but overall they offer a number of simple and cheap pintxos. And to top it off they got a good music in here. I would totally recommend to visit this place.
