We were staying in the hotel across from the restaurant and we walked in without a reservation. The place looked quite empty and we were seated quickly. This was the first time we had taken out 3 year old to an Indian restaurant so there was a little apprehension. This turned out to be completely unjustified as he seemed to thoroughly enjoy himself, although he did limit his intake to popadom and a wonderful cheese nan. We had a mixture of starters and the tandoori mixed grill. Everything was exceptional, with different spices and marinades and sauces creating a meal that would put most of the uk Indian restaurants that I know to shame. The prawns were large fresh and juicy, not over cooked as so often is the case with prawns done in the tandoor. As my wife doesn’t like anything more than a faint hint of chilli heat, I ordered carefully and nothing was over spicy. I did ask if I could have some chopped green chilli to liven my plate but what I got was the most amazing fresh green chilli paste that I wish I could have bottled up! Wonderful food, great service and very reasonable prices. If you are looking for an Indian restaurant in Tenerife then...
Read moreUPDATED REVIEW NOV 2025 Second visit, ever the optimist, I thought it was time to give it a go. It was just as bad as first visit. Waiter did not write the order, forgot the starters. Then failed to remember them a second time. So we got a starter after the main course. Then after further reminders we got another 2 starters. There were only 2 other tables with customers so it wasn't that they were busy. As far as the food goes, the paneer had too much sugar, biriani sub average (the photo in the menu is pure fiction)... Don't know why we gave them a second chance, €90 down the drain. Delhi Darbar is a good Indian restaurant close by so we'll continue to go there in future. Service reduced to 1 star Food remains a miserable 2 stars
ORIGINAL REVIEW 2024 If you know anything about Indian food, avoid. Second visit here. No Paneer, no veg Samosas, no kulfi... So menu is just a theory. Tandoori, mostly dry, overcooked and under spiced. Butter chicken had so much sugar, almost inedible. Egg curry not even a whiff of the coconut that should be there. Gulab jamu served cold with spray cream. Service... Let's just say patience required....
Read moreWe reserved a table in advance for New Year's Eve. When we came to the restaurant, the table was not ready and we got a seat right in the entrance. We asked for another seat but were refused. After that we wanted to order a mixed drink to drink. Even though it was listed on the menu and we also saw mixed drinks on other tables, the waiter told us that they don't make drinks. While ordering food, we wanted to correct the order, a few seconds after we said it, but the waiter refused. No willingness or flexibility on his part. The food we got was excellent. But everything was ruined by the service again. After we finished eating, no one came to ask about dessert, coffee, or to clear our empty plates for about an hour. Very strange attitude of the staff, also because there were other people outside waiting for a free table and we would like to free it. So in conclusion, I summarize that the food was very tasty, but the service very bad. I recommend the management to solve this. This is not the only review in this sense. It's a shame, the kitchen has potential, which is spoiled by the attitude...
