My worst restaurant experience so far, but to be honest - I think it was the service that messed up. We were served by a lady. First the pizzas were different than the ones that we ordered (1 was matching, 2 others sth completely else) but still we accepted it and thought it was a mistake.. .. Then the waitress split (by accident) our beer on the table.. She brought another one but we had an untouched big one and she replaced it with a small one... The pizzas were frankly to say ok, but the most interesting was when it came to the bill... She brought us a bill that had positions that we haven't ordered and as we questioned that she replaced it with another one but still was trying to charge us extra for things that we haven't ordered or eaten. She came 3rd time with the correct bill (1st was 50eur, ours was about 37eur) but then she ignered the money and I needed to get the change from 50 by myself.. I have an impression that someone was trying to scam me and hope this is just the impression. So to end up: food ok, Service - well, we will never go there again. And I recommend to everyone to check their bills thoroughly,...
Read moreThis is an excellent restaurant located in a quiet neighborhood, the outside tables are surrounded by a stone wall to provide privacy and a quiet atmosphere. Even though we arrived about a half hour before their opening time they were very nice and accommodating, allowing us to sit and they brought us some refreshments. The bread we were served was nice and warm freshly out of the oven and delicious. The pasta dishes were excellent and freshly made. I ordered the lasagna which is of the Neapolitan variety, which means it has slices of ham inside, it came in a terracotta dish right out of the oven. Even though it tastes a bit different from a traditional lasagna it was still excellent. Desert was tiramisu which was big enough to share between two people. Prices are reasonable for a restaurant of this category specially if you take into account the quality of the food and service. Definitely would go back to try some of the...
Read moreWe had a wonderful lunch at Da Canio and it definitely exceeded our expectations. The Bella Napoli pizza with serrano ham was absolutely amazing with fresh ingredients. The pear and four cheese saccottini was our favorite dish: rich, creamy and perfectly balanced.
The tagliatelle with cream and prawns was also excellent, cooked al dente and with a delicate sauce that paired really well with the seafood. For dessert, we tried the cheesecake – very creamy and quite different from the usual style, which may not be to everyone’s taste, but still interesting to try.
Portions were generous, the prices fair, and the staff attentive and friendly. Highly recommended if you’re looking for Italian cuisine...
