My husband is Spanish so when he called to book table for dinner in Spanish tonight, the staff asked if we were planning to order the Ibiza typical dish Bullit de paix, because it takes an hour to cook so if we do they would prepare it in advanced. I read a review saying they had to wait for an hour and half for the paella, I was a bit surprised with that. I would suggest you to call in advanced if you want this special dish which is amazing if you are a fish lover.
The staff is super nice and clearly is passionate with food. He has shared and told us so much about the dishes and how they prepared the dishes. To be honest, we are very pleased from the starter, wine to the desert he recommended. My husband and I appreciate his honesty and he didn’t push us to order more than we could eat. Our friends have suggested us to go to some ´famous resturants’ which we did go but I personally found them too ´commercial’, everything taste too strong and artificial which I found Insula using good seafood and original flavor is just what we love about.
The location of this Resturant might be the downside of this Resturant but it’s also at the end of the street by the sea, so it’s more breezy and I found it more relaxing than the Main Street. If you are up for a more down to earth atmosphere with typical Ibiza food, Insula is perfect for you. My husband and I can’t be happier with our meal. 😎 highly recommend it if you are fish lover and like the original taste...
Read moreWe stayed in the Hotel Riomar just beside this restaurant and stopped in for lunch. We didn’t have high expectations, just wanted a beer and a few tapas. The beer was ice cold and the tapas were cooked fresh to order.. the service was friendly and accommodating with my less than expert level Spanish speaking. We found it hard to get a table, the place was busy with local families which is always a good reflection. We read reviews about their Ibizan dish bullit de peix and I asked about booking a table for dinner to try this. I am so glad we did! Authentic and really delicious, the waiter (manager/owner?) talked me through how this is usually cooked and served, type of ingredients etc. we really enjoyed our meals here and would definitely go back when we visit Santa...
Read moreWhat a find, we stumbled upon this at the very end of our walk one night along the harbour. We ended up dining here for 4 meals! Great food in an unassuming no frills establishment. Not as shiny or modern as the others you’ll find on the harbour and the service isn’t as sharp. But we enjoyed the food, the laid back environment and the location. We noticed that most patrons were long time returning customers friendly with Insula, a positive sign! We enjoyed the grilled squid, octopus, monkfish, scorpion fish, Andalusian squid and of course the full course of bullit de peix. Would...
