Lizarran — Restaurant in Santa Pola

Absolute disgrace. Six of us sat together on one table, none of the food came out together. One person had their food, several minutes later another etc.

We had to ask for a couple of meals as they were taking so long that others were finishing meals as food arrived.

I ordered ribeye steak, with eggs and chips as on the menu it really looked delicious. I get that its never picture perfect, but what I was served looked like some left overs that you would question about throwing in the dog bowl.

I checked with the waitor as I couldn't actually identify what had fell on to my plate as I wasn't sure it was the meal that I ordered. He confirmed it was, I then advised I did not want it as it looked horrific. It was returned to the kitchen, then brought back out to me saying oh sorry it was the onion that was missing. I then advised it still looked horrific with the onion and I didn't want it. I was told that the boss says you've ordered it, so you have to have it. I promptly responded I do not want it and neither am I paying for that particular meal.

The meal disappeared and reappeared 15 minutes later with the same response from the waitor (as if anyone would eat that reheated poor excuse for a meal).

I spoke to the boss who's reaponse was to role his eyes, shrug his shoulders and say "nothing looks like it does no the menu". I said with reason it had to resemble the dish that I want to purchase and pay for and presentation should be acceptable to which i do not. He was argumentative, rude and unreasonable. We did not back down and that particular meal was refunded....until we had the bill.

It was still present on the bill, we had to ask for it to be adjusted to which they did, they then charged for some what we considered free-bees, where they walk about with trays of bits and pieces offering you the to try. What I consider tasters. They do not advise in anyway they they are chargeable extras so be careful of this misleading 'gesture'. However, they were better that the slop that was delivered to me so happy to pay.

The owner is rude, the food is basic, overpriced and a sloppy mess with no care or passion from the kitchen staff. It does not belong in such a nice location by the harbour - it should be in benidorm serving up what people are throwing up. Vile place, avoid at all costs.

Oh and to the owner: please don't bother with the generic delving deeper into the complaint responses I will not be wasting anymore time after I've also put a review on trip advisor.

This branch of Lizeran in Santa Pola is ideally situated on the paseo in front of the marina and still quite central to the town. The waiters are attentative and do Thier best to make sure your plates are never empty. The range of tapas seems never ending. There are lots of cold tapas in the glass cabinets, each tapa has a cocktail stick, with different sticks in the various tasties with different values. When you leave, you pay for the amount of sticks ( x Thier value ) on your plate. There were two of us , we had a couple of cold and a couple of hot tapas, to drink a cup of coffee and a water con gas each, the bill arrived and we were pleasantly surprised to pay 23 euros including a tip between us. It was my friend's first visit to a Lizeran and he loved it, not just the selection, but the novelty of paying for the stick when you leave. I've been before, and it's always been fine, and most of the staff are great, but this visit was just weird. A young waiter eventually came to serve us, and asked me what I wanted to drink (in spanish), so I replied in spanish "aqua sin gas". He snapped at me "what!?" And I repeated slowly "aqua..... sin..... gas". Later he came back to take our food order, and I had the menu in my hand, and pointed at what I want (in case of any further ambiguity) and before I had finished speaking, he just stomped off in a sort of huff. So, the husband never got to place his order. He didnt come back, but another member of staff, a young girl asked if she could help and we completed our order with her.
