My wife and I were here 20 years ago and had a really good experience. We returned last week with 3 of our kids with great expectations- unfortunately our experience (twice) was disappointing with the food being o.k., but the more disappointing aspect was the demeanour and engagement of staff - our first visit seemed to find us in the midst of tensions among some staff - however, we were treated abruptly at best and were almost apologetic for our order at the bar - when your business is serving people and being part of their experience it is important to reflect that in how you interact with those people - hundreds of thousands of people have crossed the threshold since our last visit and it was a place we always remembered and recommended to friends - not so much anymore - really need to have a long discussion with staff about their role in every...

First waiter was very welcoming, the second was a young man named Petko from Bulgaria, he spoke excellent English compared to my very limited Spanish. We ordered the beef cheeks and beef fillet, the cjheeks could not be any softer the meat melted like butter in my mouth, served with skinny fries and a bowl of bread. The service and food served was excellent. A local mixed group took over one table and the next minute they were singing their hearts out, I believe it’s a regular Friday night sing along. We found it on our first day in Santander, had a drink and made the mistake of going to a restaurant nearby where we had an excellent but overpriced meal. We should have stayed here - and we did every night afterwards.
