We walked past this restaurant multiple times, being turned away on 2 occasions as they were busy. We wanted to go in since the start as it looks very nice and the menu reads well. On finally going, at 7ish when it was still somewhat quiet, we were taken to a corner of the seating area, as we were with our 6 month old in a pram, not unusual, but there centre tables were empty and the 3 other families with young children were all sat in the corners, essentially tucked away out of sight.
The waitresses were polite, but nothing else, no personality in sight.
We ordered 1 portion of queen scallops between 2, which were grilled, but burnt and overcooked would be more adequate. They weren't queen scallops, just your run of the mill and small.
For mains, my wife had the stuffed ravioli, which was nice, but not "stuffed". 5/10 as the flavour was nice. I had the duck in hoisin sauce, which was very nice. I would definitely recommend, if you decide to go.
We left the desserts as it could have gone one way or another.
Throughout the meal, the waitresses did not come to the table at any point other than to drop off or take plates, you would leave thirstier than you came. Didn't help that we were tucked away in the corner either.
The final parting notice is that there are NO baby changing facilities. I asked to change my daughter and a nice waitress advised me to go inside the main building and use a sofa, fair enough. A manager with very to no customer service quickly changed this and pointed me in the direction of another building where the toilets were found. Again, no changing table or mat is sight. He clearly didn't care where as long as it wasn't in his restaurant. Ended up being done on a chair in the restaurant.
This epitomises the restaurant and their views on families.
I believe the chose who they wish to offer their best service to, as it became apparent from watching others eating that they were given better service.
If you have any children, avoid like the plague.
If you're not old or in a big group, consider it carefully.
Overall, despite some decent food, it's a poor show and I would happily tell others to avoid to save...
Read moreI've give 2 stars just purley because the food was really nice, it's a shame the service spoilt it! We went in one night and the waitress wasn't very welcoming but we gave a benefit of the doubt and the food was gorgeous! We then went on our last night as the food was worth going back for. We waited at the front for around 10 minutes during this time, one of the waitresses walked past us and went straight over to what seemed to be her friends in the restaurant and had a long chat. We then were sent to a table by another waitress who asked if we needed a hight chair for the baby. We said yes please. My husband got baby out of the pram ready to put him in a highchair and the waitress decided to go and chat to her friends and have a cigarette with them. My dad turned to the waitress and said sorry but please can we have the highchair? The waitress went and got it and slammed it down in front of the table so we decided at that point to leave! Seems like rude waitresses seem to be a thing in this restaurant! If you want good service, I'd highly recommend Indiana Johns who are also amazing...
Read moreA rather disappointing experience. I ordered a piña colada, but unfortunately, it did not resemble the classic version described on the menu. Instead of the expected ingredients, it was made with coconut shavings, excessive sugar, and lacked both pineapple juice and, seemingly, rum. The result was overly sweet and difficult to drink. Wishing to give the place another chance, I ordered a different cocktail and politely requested no added sugar. When I mentioned that the previous drink didn't match the menu description, the waitress responded dismissively, saying it was "only me" who found it too sweet. I proceeded to try a second cocktail, which was advertised as containing champagne and strawberry purée. What I received, however, was a warm, flat beverage with a jam-like consistency—again, nothing like what was promised. Sadly, I left the establishment quite disappointed. I would recommend approaching this place with caution if you value consistency, quality, and...
