We had high hopes for La Bodega in Cala d’Or, but unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing meals of our trip. From start to finish, the experience was underwhelming, and frankly, we wish we’d gone elsewhere. The service was abrupt and unfriendly, with staff seeming uninterested in making the experience enjoyable. It wasn’t just us – other diners around us appeared equally frustrated. I overheard one table ask if their drinks could come out with the food, only to be told bluntly, “No, not possible.” Another nearby group was questioning whether their food had come straight from the freezer. Not a great atmosphere to dine in. As for the food – easily the worst part. For a Spanish restaurant, the tapas were bland and uninspired. The patatas bravas seemed frozen, served with a tiny pot of mayonnaise (no aioli in sight), and the calamari seemed no better – possibly also frozen and lacking any flavour. The nachos were the low point: topped with tasteless guacamole, and we only discovered the tomato at the bottom after digging through the now-soggy mess. It felt like something thrown together with no care at all. The caprese salad didn’t fare any better – the rocket was wilted and tired-looking, and like much of the meal, nothing tasted remotely fresh. Overall, it felt like a place that survives purely on passing tourist traffic rather than any genuine care for food or service. Honestly – avoid. A waste of time and money.

A hidden gem that transports you to the heart of Spain with its cozy and traditional bodega design. From the moment you enter, you’re enveloped in the warmth of its rustic charm, making it the perfect setting for a delightful culinary journey. The tapas here are a true reflection of Spanish gastronomy, with each dish bursting with authentic flavors and made with care. The steak in red wine sauce is a standout, tender and succulent, perfectly complemented by the rich and flavorful sauce that tantalizes the taste buds. The prawns in garlic oil are a heavenly indulgence, with each bite delivering a burst of garlic-infused goodness. Every dish exudes authenticity and is a testament to the culinary expertise of the chefs. The service is top-notch, with attentive staff ensuring that every aspect of your dining experience is nothing short of excellent. If you’re seeking an authentic taste of Spain paired with great service, look no further than La Bodega

So me and my friend were sceptical about coming here as we LOVE tapas and Spanish food is a must when on holiday in Spain right? But the reviews were making us question if we should go anyway we thought let’s give it a go anyway and we are so confused by the poor reviews I think the sort of people that maybe visit the area don’t know traditional Spanish tapas or good service when they receive it as we had the best experience ever! The food was so good and the service was amazing too! We cannot fault this place whatsoever and would definitely recommend for tapas if you’re visiting Cala do’r (we have nothing to compare it to in Cala do’r but have travelled a whole lot and this is such good food at such reasonable prices) For reference we visited at 7:30pm table of 2 in July so maybe this is why we had such a good experience as it wasn’t too busy but I would definitely go back if I was in Cala do’r.

As a food enthusiast with a penchant for remarkable dining experiences, I recently had the pleasure of visiting La Bodega en Cala d'Or, and I must say, it left an indelible mark on my taste buds and heart. The freshness of ingredients was evident in every mouthwatering bite, elevating each dish to new heights.

The highlight of the meal was the succulent seafood paella, bursting with vibrant colors, aromatic saffron-infused rice, and an abundance of delectable seafood. It was a symphony of flavors, perfectly balanced and executed with finesse. The tender and juicy grilled meats, accompanied by delightful sauces and seasonal vegetables, were a testament to the chef's expertise. I could sense the passion and dedication that went into creating these culinary masterpieces.

Complementing the exquisite food, La Bodega en Cala d'Or boasts an extensive selection of wines and handcrafted cocktails. We went in the afternoon, ate simple dishes and decided to come back for a special dinner in our last night before our return. We ordered various tapas, and we had problems: the heat inside was insane in one of the area without air conditioner, super hard to stay there only old fan. a tapa with eggplants and cheese was fried and the menu didn't have that info; a mini burrito that was too spicy, and again the menu didn't have any info regarding spiceness degree; and a mini beef tapa that arrived with the meat too raw (again, no info in the menu), and no waiter told us or asked us about our preferred cooking degree.

Despite all of that, the biggest problem was how rude one of the waiters was, when we complained about the mini burrito being too spicy. Instead of listening to our complaint and suggestion (to mention it in the menu how spicy it is), the waiter was basically trying to lecture us that "burritos are always spicy because they are Mexican". I'm used to eating burritos, and most serious places I go mention the spiciness degree, so I'd expect the same level of professionalism in a restaurant like this one.

In the end I had to throw up part of it, because of both the spice and the stress of the whole situation.

Our bill as a couple was around 80 euros and yet, the service and the food level are not even close to what one would expect for that...
