Lovely looking place right on cala d’or marina front. Specialising in seafood, which I love so decided to give a try.
Sadly looking good was as good as it got.
Slow drinks service initially. I accidentally spilt some of my wife’s drink when pouring and asked for a serviette to clean up. This never came so we had to go inside and find some ourselves. Not a big problem.
However. My wife is vegetarian so ordered the vegetarian platter where the main component was falafel. Turned up looking nice on a wooden board with bread and spinach croquettes.
Problem was it wasn’t falafel! Tasted like a meatball so we challenged the waiter, who assured us it was falafel.
We knew it wasn’t so I took it inside and showed it to the chef. He advised it was made of spinach. We knew it wasn’t. With further pushing the chef showed me the box that the “falafel” came in.
It was a frozen vegetable meatball! Apparently they had no falafel (we went at lunch opening time so they couldn’t have ran out).
So they had not only lied about what it was, they’re serving up frozen food from the supermarket.
I had hoped that my gumbo stew would make up for it as it looked great. Sadly not on taste or service.
It had shell on mussels, clams and prawns. No extra bowl given for the shells to go in, no extra serviette or water bowl to dip fingers in after de-shelling. Also the whole dish was very heavily salted, detracting from the taste of the seafood.
Would just like to point out I’m not some snotty privileged type I’m just a regular guy from Grimsby out for a nice meal with his wife, expecting a decent level of service and to actually be served what was ordered.
If i were you I’d give The...
Read morePearlfishers Lobster Shack is hands-down the best restaurant on the marina in Cala d’Or. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away—not just by the mouthwatering seafood, but by the incredible service and unforgettable ambiance.
The star of the show? The coconut curry—absolutely to die for! Bursting with rich, aromatic flavor and perfectly balanced spice, it’s one of the best seafood curries I’ve ever had. The lobster was tender and fresh, and every bite was pure heaven.
The entire menu reflects the ocean’s best, served up with flair and creativity. Whether you’re a lobster lover or just in the mood for excellent seafood, Pearlfishers delivers.
The decor is a breath of fresh air—original, stylish, and full of character, making it stand out from every other spot along the marina. It’s clear a lot of thought and personality went into the design, and it creates the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a long, relaxing meal.
To top it all off, the service was outstanding. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm staff made us feel welcome and well looked after from start to finish.
If you’re in Mallorca, don’t miss Pearlfishers. It’s an unforgettable experience and truly the crown jewel of Cala...

Unfortunately, our experience at Perlfisher in Cala d’Or was deeply disappointing and concerning. We were a group of six dining there, and three of us who ate the oysters became seriously ill shortly after the meal. All three experienced symptoms of food poisoning, including fever, vomiting, and severe dehydration.
This was not just a minor discomfort — it led to a very distressing evening and required medical attention. While the location and ambiance may seem appealing, serving unsafe seafood is completely unacceptable and dangerous.
We strongly urge the management to thoroughly review their food safety practices and sourcing of shellfish. Until then, we cannot recommend this place to anyone — especially if you’re considering...
