The ONLY thing that I don't like about La LoBa is that it's hundreds of miles from my home!
Tonight we received incredible food, delicious cocktails and quite possibly the best service we've ever experienced in any restaurant we've dined in.
Our first server, a fantastically passionate gentleman who made us feel very welcome straight away. He gave us a couple of options: we could order what we want from the menu OR we could tell him what we don't like and any allergies and he would provide us with multiple sharing courses for myself and partner to experience La LoBa's best. The passion sold it. We chose to let him decide for us.
We had no idea what was coming first, or next. However, everything and I mean EVERYTHING was impeccable. The scallops first 😳, it's actually a little silly how I cannot quite explain just how good they were. I really wish I could put into words so you could understand.
Then the croquet. Just one of the most stunning dishes you could imagine, and at the same time, like nothing you are imagining reading this! Soft, crunchy, creamy, flavorful...
Gyozas! More subtly flavoured than the previous two dishes, but perfectly so. Something to take your taste buds away from euphoria whilst still delighting.
The steak with grilled veg and the best mash to finish our shared dishes was a fantastic touch. We were thinking we would need to order extra food after the shared dishes as the portions, although not small, left a little space. By the time we finished all the courses we JUST had enough space for dessert. Thankfully too.
My partner chose the chocolate brownie and I opted for the Cheesecake. The brownie was delicious! The Cheesecake though, was really something else. I've eaten a lot of Cheesecake in my time (one of my favourite desserts), but this was somewhere on the fence between sweet and savoury. Everything about it was just, the best, really.
The cocktails were made not far from our table. Fresh, tasty and very moreish.
I can't commend the team there enough. They were outstanding! I really liked every single one of them. Their attitudes, politeness, friendliness, professionalism... everything about them.
The final touch... we were asked before we left if the team could join us for a small aperitif. What a privilege for us!
We shared the moment, howled into the Mallorcan night, shook hands and parted.
I can't wait to come back to this beautiful island, revisit La LoBa and meet these guys again! Please, send me your names, I can't believe I didn't get them.
Wishing you all the best!
Until the...
Read moreI’ve never written a 1-star review before. I usually only leave 5-star reviews to support restaurants—but this was genuinely one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. • We waited 30 minutes just to get menus, after asking three different staff. • The owner eventually came over, apologized, and begged us to stay, promising us “priority service.” • After 45 minutes with no food or drinks, I politely said we’d like to leave and even offered to pay for the drinks we hadn’t received. • He insisted the starter was “coming out immediately.” It arrived 30 minutes later—a cold raw fish dish. €26 for 3 slices of fish. • After the starter, we asked for some bread, just to have something while waiting. • We were told our mains would take another 30 minutes. By this point we’d been sitting there over 90 minutes, hungry and frustrated.
While we were trying to ask for the bill—multiple times—the owner was busy drinking shots with other tables, ignoring us completely.
Then suddenly, he came out with a flaming salt-baked sea bass, parading it through the restaurant like a performance.
At that exact moment, our long-awaited glass of wine and two pieces of bread finally appeared—after countless requests. It felt completely staged, like a theatrical dig for deciding to leave.
We walked out—and the owner mocked us loudly to the rest of the diners.
I just wanted to be treated decently. Instead, we were ignored, dismissed, and publicly embarrassed.
I can’t speak to the food—but the service was chaotic, passive-aggressive, and emotionally exhausting.
Avoid. There are far better places to spend your...
Read moreThis was genuinely the worst service I have ever experienced. We sat down and it took 30 minutes for the food menu to be brought to us after we flagged waiters down multiple times.
After the food menus were dropped to us we said we would rather leave and the "owner" did a sales pitch and more or less begged us to give him another chance... so we decided to stay...
It took 30 mins for our sharing "ceviche" to arrive it was a few pieces of sliced fish... for 26 euro... at this point we've been in the restaurant for one hour and we are really hungry so we ask for some bread.:: we again had to ask for this bread from 2 waiters.. and it took 20 mins for them to bring bread...
While this is going on the "owner" is taking shots with other tables
It has now been 1 hour and 15 mins and all we have eaten is some slices of raw fish so we ask for the bill instead of bringing the bill like we asked... they brought out the salt baked sea bass in flames.... so while the whole restaurant is looking at this flaming fish the owner who knows we asked for the bill makes a big show and says do we still want to leave?!
We said we wound prefer to leave as at this point we do not feel comfortable. We leave and he makes jokes to whole the restaurant as we are walking out....
I have never experienced service like this in my life the owner seemed to get joy out of embarrassing...
