Yaya´s — Restaurant in Santanyí

The waiter's were attentive and took our order for drinks as soon as we were seated at our table. When it came to ordering our food we were advised that as 3 of us had ordered steak that we should opt for the meat special as it would be a better value choice. We took the waiter's advise which turned out to be a bad decision. The steak was fatty but more importantly very salty, one steak was just about edible whilst the other my wife could not eat. My wife explained this to the waiter who was very apologetic and asked if she wanted something else from the menu. She asked for a salad which he went away and ordered from the kitchen.

He agreed that the steak was not right and apologised again .

To add insult to injury the salad never appeared which made our experience even worse.

I am not sure if there has been a change of staff in the kitchen recently but our experience did not come close to the reviews which have been posted. Our evening was ruined by this experience

As you would expect we were not charged for the steak that was returned however we wanted to enjoy the evening and have a lovely meal sadly this...

To be fair I keep five stars for very exclusive places that surprised me with amazingness. But for a very touristy place like Cala D'or the employees of Yaya made us feel very welcome and treated us personally. Unfortunately I do not now their names but the guy and girl were the best. And the food yes it was good! We had the tapas mixed menu they offer at lunch. Five tapas each and more than enough for us to skip a full dinner this evening and take a light meal. So if you go here and doubt of that tapas menu is any good, just go for it. It might surprise you but not every restaurant here knows how to cook their seafood but this place does. And our baby of 11 months was treated like a guest himself, didn't need much. He was offered a kids meal but also suggested to join in on our food because it was more healthy. I just loved that. we started off coming to this place nervous whether the asian/mediterranean mix of food would be suitable for all of us, however i will tell you that all of us were left astonished, i have never in my life tasted chicken so tender and delicious ( i had crispy chicken bao buns and was extremely impressed with the flavour and texture of the meal). Enough about the food, i indulged myself with a non alcoholic cocktail called the tropicani and it was delicious and was presented beautifully. I would also like to comment on the incredible service we experienced here, there was always somebody to take a drink or food order, check the food and drinks were delicious (which they obviously were) and collect our dishes when we were done. Never have i ever been to a restaurant so amazing in my lifetime, i hope someday i can come back to mallorca and revisit cala d’or just to come to this restaurant...
