Bar Puente de Barcas might just have the best cortado I’ve had in town. It was strong but smooth, with just the right amount of milk. Balanced in that perfect Spanish way where you still taste the espresso, not just the milk. You can tell they take their coffee seriously.

The vibe is super relaxed, nothing flashy. Just a local spot where the barista knows what they’re doing and lets the coffee speak for itself. I loved that. The staff were friendly and welcoming without trying too hard.

We stumbled upon this tiny tapas bar on the corner of the cutest street in Triana just after checking into our hotel, and what a find! We stopped in for a light bite and a glass of wine (or tinto de verano) around 1 PM. Normalmente en este sitio mi mujer y yo desayunamos sin problema. Las tostadas y el café están muy buenos y el servicio amable.

Pero hoy hemos tenido una experiencia muy mala. Tardaron un rato en hacer el pedido, lo cual se entiende porque había mucha gente. Después de hacer el pedido mi mujer y yo esperamos 30 minutos literales del reloj sin quejarnos ni meter prisa.

Después de este tiempo vino el chico que nos hizo el pedido y que atendía las mesas y nos preguntó que que habíamos pedido, se lo digo y me dice que se ha caído el papel o algo así, vamos que mi pedido se ha perdido.

Soy una persona comprensiva así que sin alterarme le digo que bueno que si me puede poner mi pedido a la cabeza de la cola y no pasa nada. Y me dice que no que está la tostadora llena y que no puede. Vamos que básicamente me dijo que esperara dios sabe cuánto más o que no había más opciones. Casi me podría haber dicho que allí no desayunaba hoy.
