It's a pity about the cooks' work that is ruined by the disgusting service. This is one of the worst services I've ever seen. We had a large table of 20 people. We went to order food inside, having previously ordered drinks. The service at the "ama&ama" counter looks like this: there is one scared girl behind the counter who does not speak English well and cannot handle orders on her own. In addition to her, three other girls come behind the counter every now and then, but they do not care about us, they laugh, joke among themselves and adjust their aprons. I had already lost my patience and openly tried to shout at one of them, she stood with her BACK demonstratively ignoring us. In the end, I got my set, but I wanted to add a pie and then I had to wait in line AGAIN... Naturally, the food got cold, I asked to heat it up again, the girl said yes, but nothing happened. Finally, after 15 minutes, one of the three busy girls deigned to pay attention, she stopped heating up the pie and gave it to me barely warm: underneath it remained cold and tasteless. I tried to order something at the aperitif counter, but there was a line of two people, a man was working behind the counter WITH HIS BACK to the guests and was slowly making a board with slices, so here too, waiting in line (again, somewhere around 15!!!) for a board 🤦♀️ did not work out... As a result, with cold food and a spoiled mood, I returned to the table, approached the waitress asking for a glass of wine for me at our table, she replied that she would come now and take the order herself. Time passed... I watched her open a bottle of wine at another table. The food was finally getting cold, despairing of being consumed with a glass of wine. Then I made another attempt, went up to the bar and directly asked the guy behind the bar to pour me a glass of wine, he promised me that he would personally bring me wine in a minute and .. just disappeared .. There were no more than 4 or 5 tables occupied around, except for ours. As a result, after an hour of unsuccessful attempts, I ate my cold lunch and an ice pie, washed it down with water and was left completely in a bad mood. So bad that we were not too lazy to...
Read moreMaybe I'm in the minority, but I like to eat where the locals eat because they know where to get the best food at a good price. This market is not that. We arrived for an early lunch, soon after the market opened. The workers seemed too busy prepping, and were not eager to help us. In one booth, there wasn't even anyone working there and I had to wait a while for someone to show up. No big deal, I get it, we're there early. I ordered a few items from a pastry shop that sells empanadas and things wrapped in phyllo dough. The gal put them into the toaster oven and then sold them to me (I think I pad about 8 euros for three items). They were barely warm, and not at all melty. I had a couple of bites and got bored. My girlfriend didn't like them either so she went and got a pasta/spinach salad. It too, was unimpressive. The best thing we had here were the beers. This place feels super corporate, every booth seems to be sponsored by Aperol or a cerveza company. It's beautiful building and everything feels new and clean. But the food was so-so and expensive compared to other (better) meals that we ate. If you want a more authentic experience, skip this place and walk across the bridge to the nearby market in Triana. You can eat and drink for half the price and the food...
Read moreArroceria served up the most incredible paella I've had in Sevilla. This unassuming little gem far surpassed all my expectations. The flavors were absolutely spot on and I’m glad I found this toward the end of my trip here.
Big shoutout to Maria Isabel who helped us at Arrocedia. She was incredibly kind in helping us to decide between the different flavors of paella. Clearly she’s the paella queen and knows her paella!
Arrocedia offers a variety of paella flavors to choose from, and each one is a winner. My girlfriend and I ordered both the seafood and the pork paella. We were blown away by the freshness of the ingredients and the seasoning. The balance of flavors was amazing and it wasn't overly salty. Plus, they got the ratio of meat to rice just perfect. My girlfriend loved the pork one so much she went back for seconds!!!
Arrocedia is tucked away from the touristy spots by the Catedral, allowing you to enjoy a genuine paella experience. And the fact that it's situated in a clean and comfortable Mercado only adds to the charm.
If you're looking to avoid tourist traps in Seville and indulge in some outstanding paella, Arrocedia is the place to go. Trust me, you won't be...
