Tucked into the winding streets of Sitges, Bella Ciao isn’t trying to impress you with theatrics it doesn’t have to. The prosciutto and arugula pizza arrives looking like it was born in Naples and raised by the sea: paper thin crust blistered just enough, a salty kiss of cured meat, and peppery arugula that wakes your palate like a slap on the shoulder from an old friend.

Across the table, the truffle gnocchi is a quiet kind of luxury pillowy dumplings that vanish the second they hit your tongue, tangled in a sauce so rich it feels like someone smuggled in half of Piedmont. There’s no pretense here, just the confidence of a kitchen that knows exactly what it’s doing.

This place saved my day.

I’m not used to places being open so much later for dinner and found myself incredibly hungry and in desperate need of something to eat.

I stopped outside and a young guy told me about the menu and to use the QR code for an English version. He said the kitchen would be open in ten minutes and to come in and grab a drink while I waited so I did.

It’s a nice atmosphere inside. Small but cozy and again he explained the menu which is extensive.

I ordered the Carbonara because I was really craving it and he put the order in so it would be the first one out when the kitchen opened.

It was delicious! So full of flavor. I could have eaten ten more plates of it.
