Microwaved Food My girlfriend and I had an unpleasant experience here. We ordered two small portions of paella (20€ total). The menu said it came with a free drink, but the owner told us we could only get water.
There wasn’t enough food for both of us, so he said he’d make more. He disappeared for about two minutes and came back with it. We were really surprised because we thought it would take at least 15-20 minutes. When we tried it, the top was warm but the rest was still cold. I mentioned this to him, and he simply put it in the MICROWAVE. The flavor was fine, but the texture was sticky and slimy—exactly like reheated food.
We were really disappointed, especially since reviews described the paella as “homemade” and based on a 101-year-old family recipe. I didn’t know microwaves existed 101 years ago.
The atmosphere also felt a bit off—more like sitting in a Starbucks than a traditional restaurant. On the positive side, the owner was friendly and tried to communicate with us in half-English, half-Spanish, which we appreciated.
Overall, thank you for the food, but I can’t...
Read moreI was here for a wedding and was craving paella… this hole in the wall was so delicious, muy Rico 👌🏽my family and I opted for small plates of each that they were serving: Squid, seafood, chicken and veggie. EVERY DISH WAS AMAZING. Super yummy, great portion sizes, and affordable! I’m not expert on paella, as I’ve only had it at Spanish/Latin restaurants in the US, but my taste buds and stomach were delighted!
The prawns were juicy, chicken was moist and not dry, the squid was perfectly cooked - not tough or too chewy, and the muscles and other seafood pieces were soft and melt in my mouth. NOM NOM.
The space itself is small, but the owner Jose was super cool and told us his story of learning to cook paella from his abuela. I’ll definitely be coming back before the end...
Read moreFantastic place if you want to eat an authentic paella. The portions are very generous and the taste is magnificent. The rice is cooked to perfection and it’s still perfect if taken away at reheated at home.
We got their full ration (1 portion) and it’s so big it was enough for the two of us. Every now and then they’ll do something that isn’t in the menu, like fideuá, definitely worth popping in to check it out.
The place is small and cosy, there are a few stools if you want to eat there, it helps that every portion comes with a drink included. And to top it all up, the service was great, friendly and welcoming, very helpful when it came to choose what to go for.
If you’re in Sitges and fancy paella, this is the...
