Pizzeria Paoli — Restaurant in Sitges

I have never before felt like I wanted to leave a restaurant without paying, until I dined here.

Maybe it was because it was new years eve and the kitchen could not manage a decent menu for 40/50 people (not sure how many but the restaurant was full). Maybe the chef quit 3 days before and they pulled something together at the last minute. I don't know the reasons why but the food was horrible! Nothing that looks like the pictures I've seen in other reviews.

The dishes served on new years eve looked like something you would pull out of the freezer in mercadona, no offense to mercadona.

We started with appetizers that were hotdogs wrapped in a puff pastry dough. HOTDOGS! Then followed something that was supposedly terrine salmon  but it had barely any salmon, certainly not wrapped in salmon like it is usually made. It looked and tasted like wet bread soaked in mayo mixed with some salmon and made into a mold bread that was then sliced. I was not able to eat it.

Followed by a pork wrapped in dough (the dough was kind of tasty) with the pork being super hard and dry and covered with a porcini mushroom sauce that I don't believe it was warmed up, if so, it had been hours ago and it was very, very cold. Being a fatty sauce it was disgusting to eat cold. This dish had something like au gratting potatoes, but again they were cold and the potatoes not fully cooked... another dish I could not stomach to swallow. So, so far all I've had is hot dogs wrapped in pastry.

The dish of assorted cheeses I did not touch, I was nervous by then.

For desert we had some pastry that was dry, insipid and seemed to have been sliced hours before so it was crusty. I also was not able to eat this. So 4 dishes served and 0 dishes eaten, except for hot dogs. Do you see why it was painful to have to pay 125€ for this dinner? My wife made the mistake to eat the salmon dish which made her very sick and ended up throwing up in the bathroom 3 times before the evening was over and we had to leave.

To add insult to injury, when I stopped at the restaurant a few weeks earlier, to ask details about the night, I was told there would be a "singer".... so what do I think? There will be a person singing, so that is live music in my book, and I remember saying to then "oh you will have live music"!! Instead there was a drag queen lip synching!!! Hey, I love drag queen shows, but please, this was not a show and there was NO singing. There was no singer as they stated. So, new years eve celebration got totally ruined. Nothing left to do but go home and eat toast, for me, and continue to get sick, for my wife.

I really wish I took the time to talk to the manager and not pay, but they were very busy hustling to serve the crowd and we had to go home with a sick wife, must say they worked hard that night to serve a full restaurant, there was no opportunity to have a conversation.

So, I won't be setting foot in there and will be sharing my experience with friends. Very disappointed and very sad to have wasted my new years celebration...

Amazing pizzeria! The pizzas are truly delicious, made with top-quality ingredients. You’ll find all the great classics as well as unique specialties worth trying. I had the traditional pizza Reina — perfectly made, absolutely worth it. And as for the specialty, the pizza Mortadella y pistachio with burrata was just fantastic! The service is warm and welcoming, and the décor instantly transports you to Italy, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for all true...

A new French restaurant that we were so lucky to chance upon and decided to try. They serve traditional food of Provence.

They have a lunch set (2 or 3 course with drink and bread) that is incredibly value for money. The meal was excellent and very delicious. The portion sizes were also generous and the wine we had was a very good Bordeaux. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
