Mojito — Restaurant in Tías

The good news and the bad news. The good news is that the food itself was delicious, cooked perfectly and very reasonably priced. I had the steak, my wife a chicken stroganoff, and my son the lasagne.

The bad news, we ordered my sons lasagne to come with the starters as he's 5, which it did not. When the mains arrived the lasagne was also missing. This resulted in our 5 year old in floods of tears.

The two tables near us complained about the food wait times, the second tables told staff they had waited 40 minutes, and asked if it would be any longer. The staff member responded by simply asking if they wanted to leave, which they did, but not before making them pay for their two Fanta drinks - clearly not happy to comp a couple of soft drinks.

When the food arrived at the first complainent the server simply placed the food on their table with no apology or anything said.

Such a shame as the food itself...

The steak was very tough despite ordering medium rare. Not sure why they cut it all up, I might have been able to cut around the sinew if it had been left whole. I couldn't eat half of it.

Also, we got 2 beers 'Tropical' but it tasted like vinegar. Had to return them as I suspect it was either dirty lines or some glass cleaner that was on the glasses. I noticed the table next to us didn't even drink half of their small beers either so I suspect it's a problem in the beer lines. Waiter told us it's normal for Tropical "it's a light beer". I very much doubt that. Never tasted a lager that tastes like vinegar before.

I give 5 stars for service as they changed the beers but the food is...

Walked past this place load's of times but decided to glance at the menu as we were after a light bite and all 4 of us spotted something we fancied. All I can say is don't walk past here this is a little gem of a place, plenty on the menu and good prices. To say we weren't hungry we all cleared our plates and they were not small portions.
