Universo Grill — Restaurant in Tías

If I could I’d rate this 3.5 stars as that would be more accurate.

In my family’s opinion Universo have the BEST gravy they have ever tasted, beats every other gravy they’ve tasted by miles.

And it’s not just the gravy. Many other items on their menu also compete for the best we’ve ever tasted. The name Universo is very fitting as it seems everyone universally agrees they have the best food on the strip and maybe even the whole of Lanzarote.

However if good service at a restaurant is important to you then unfortunately you will be disappointed.

If you get seated before 6PM it shouldn’t be too busy and you should get ok service from the staff but when it’s busy at night the staff are rushed off their feet and again unfortunately you will be having waits over an hour long just for main course and from our experience the staff weren’t the most polite.

In short summary BEST food in Lanzarote but poor service

I still highly recommend checking this place out but I urge everyone to go before 6PM. Also I gave atmosphere a 3/5 stars because not much to look at in the restaurant meanwhile right next door at American Indian cafe they have neon signs and other amazing decorations inside

I have been to the universo twice,the first time we sent our prawn cocktails back as the prawns hadn,t been cleaned,they were removed from the bill.We thought we would try it again last night,I ordered the Burrito and my friend ordered a well done steak,the well done steak was sent back because it was pink in the middle,it was brought back still pink but burnt on the outside.My burrito was delicious until I got half way through and discovered a hard piece of plastic in my mouth,which I could have choked on.We gave the plastic to the waiter,who in turn took it into the kitchen and heard no more about it.On receiving our bill,we were charged for everything and received no apology.I find it disgusting that we were given no apology on finding foreign bodies in our food and it didn,t warrant any comeback,we will definitely not be returning to this restaurant.We are residents of Lanzarote and like to take our guests to nice restaurants,but the Universo won,t be...

Chose to eat at this restaurant as we had never tried it, once sat down myself and partner both felt unwelcomed compared to other places we had eaten. Ordered lasagne and garlic chicken with mash and veg. The mash was nice although the main dishes were awlfull. The lasagne was dry and had some kind of plastic cheese on top and the garlic chicken tasted more like an Indian dish with no spice. Really weird taste. I refused to pay for the lasagne and ended up having the boss tell me I must pay as I had eaten some. He was very rude and I stuck to my guns and said I will not pay for a dish that was disgusting which he also took badly.
