Avoid if you have a food allergy!

Last month when on holiday in Tarragona, my son and I were attracted to this restaurant. People were enjoying delicious-looking pizzas whilst sitting in a beautiful old square.

My son has a nut allergy so we asked whether he could be catered for safely. We were told by the silver-haired waitress that the chefs wear gloves for allergy orders. This was an unusual response - we regularly eat out and would usually be told how his order would be kept separate from his allergens. Alternatively we would be told politely that catering for him would not be possible. What happened next shocked me to the core and was passive aggressive. The waitress told us they have walnuts in the kitchen. She took one from the jar, ate it messily, letting the crumbs fall from her mouth. Disgusting, unprofessional and rude! Obviously my son did not feel safe and we chose to eat elsewhere. Generally allergy awareness has improved over the last few years, but this establishment is stuck in old ways and staff would benefit from some...

MALTRATO A LOS EMPLEADOS!

He venido aquí con mucha ilusión, tenía ganas de venir desde hace un tiempo que lo tenía apuntado en la agenda, y aparte alejarme y relajarme de un poco del estrés diario, por lo tanto he venido a cenar con mi madre, la comida espectacular, las pizzas de las mejores de Tarragona, felicito al pizzero, el tiramisú muy bueno, pero estar escuchando al "jefe" y viendo durante una hora como maltrata a sus empleados ha sido horrible, al principio estuve a punto de irme y pedirles que no me trajeran la comida, del coraje que me dio, pero mi madre me sugerio quedarnos, empezó un chico nuevo hoy, Manu mucha suerte, mereces trabajar en un mejor lugar, y cualquier persona que esté pensando en trabajar aquí, el nombre lo se de tanto que lo grito, le dijo inútil, lo ponia a parir sabiendo que al ser su primer día lo tenía difícil saber las mesas y no estar nervioso, y otro chico que también estaba de camarero le grito que se iba a quedar afuera y que no le importaba hasta que hora si hasta la 1 o 2am, y que iba a cobrar lo mismo sin importar las horas, el chico estaba atendiendo las mesas llorando, ojalá tu tampoco permitas más abusos de este tipo, eso no se hace, no tienes porqué humillar a otros, no eres superior a nadie y no tienes derecho de dar este tipo de trato, no paraba de gritarles y de verdad hizo el ambiente un 0. La mesa de 4 que estaban detrás de nosotros también lo notaron y lo comentaron, una mesa de franceses también miraban y comentaban como gritaba el hombre, de que sirve tener calidad en comida y esmerarte en crear un nombre a tu negocio si lo vas a deshacer con tu actitud y tu lengua. No volveré a repetir por tan pésima...

We fell upon this new Italian pizzeria yesterday and decided to stop for artisan pizza and we did not regret it! The pizza had a delicious flavour with rosemary, juicy porchetta, potatoes and the perfect crispy crust. The main guy serving us was friendly and very helpful taking time to give us his recommendations. In a cute setting in the square, we will definitely be back. The best pizza in Catalunya! My only suggestion would be to have a few more wine choices, maybe even some Italian wine as they only have the house...
