Opening times are a complete disaster and super frustrating.
We we came here in the evening and the door was closed, even though their signs were outside. The server unlocked the door and asked if we wanted food or drinks. We asked for tequeños but the server said he wouldn't have a cook until 8 pm and sent us to the Cube de la Font (also a disaster). After waiting 40 minutes there for no tequeños, we returned to the Cube Fusion, as by then it was past 8:00.
Again, the door was locked and the server pointed for us to enter through the side door (where mops were hanging). There were power tools and wood on some of the tables and bar. We finally did get tequeños, which were good. However, the server was clearly overwhelmed and my husband was already done with his drink and I was done with my food by the time I got my poorly made mojito (with one mint leaf- see picture).
The next day, we went back for tequeños at around 11:30, but they were already closed even though Google says they are open till 1 am and their door says midnight.
This morning, we tried again before leaving Tarragona, but they were closed, although they should have been open at 10 am according to what their workers, Google, and their door say. There were no signs on the door stating changed hours of operation.

Read moreDecided to check this place out on our recent trip in Taragona. The place is in a small quiet street/alleyway. When we arrived, they were unable to see the reservation we made via Google maps. They said that they don't really use that reservation service. I'm not sure then why it's available when you look them up. Nevertheless, they said they could accommodate us in about 20 minutes. So we decided to walk to some of the nearby shops around to kill some time. After returning, they were able to seat us.
The service was just OK. They were obviously understaffed. I'm not sure if this was just that day or if that's the norm. We finally ordered our appetizers, which were the plantain chips and guacamole, patatas bravas, and yuca frita. They were all pretty good. For our main meals, we each ordered various arepas with different fillings. Everyone was just OK. Honestly, after reading the description in the menu and then finally tasting them, we were surprised at how mid they were. To cap it all off the bill for the whole meal seemed a little much for what we ate and the quality of the food.
Out of all the places we went to eat on our two week trip to Spain, this was our least favorite. If you do happen to go, maybe just stick to...
Read moreUnfortunately, I was disappointed in this place. I lived in Venezuela for several months, and have eaten plenty of delicious, authentic arepas in my life. These tasted nothing like the arepas I came to love in Venezuela. The masa doesn't taste right - it's almost sweet like cornbread. Otherwise they were pretty forgettable - felt like I had to force them down. They're also surprisingly expensive.
The venue is small. I appreciate some of the decor that they have, but some aspects just feels a bit obnoxious - blinking Christmas lights reflecting off of everything, a terrible speaker system that sounds like somebody's phone, and the ambiance is kind of ruined by a serving robot that can't seem to navigate its way through the narrow path, and plays its own obnoxious music and says it can't get past you (to a table). Ruins the atmosphere.
The human waiter was friendly enough.
I'm really surprised at how high the ratings are. I wouldn't go back - there seem to be better dining options in the neighborhood for the same price...
