EL VERGEL VEGGIE RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Tarragona

Overpriced vegetarian food. Terrible staff service. Sometimes you think a good interior design and good idea can be good but this place failed in the basics "food and service". When we got there they were very friendly but then the lady of the staff who served us lacked the principles of customer service. The food we had a pizza , through enough if i wanted a pizza I could have gone to a pizzeria but since they offered it I went for it. It meant to have tomato, blue cheese , ruccola and pear. It sounded yummy but when it was brought to me to the table it was the size of a kid's pizza and it was over-baked, it was like a stone, only some little stripes of pear and NO BLUE CHEESE. For that 8,50€. My girlfriend got a pasta dish that was served cold, honestly it could have been reheated in the microwave. And it was after requesting it and getting a grumpy face from the lady of the staff. Then when we were done with the mains they forgot to pick up the tables and after 10 minutes I went to tell them nicely that they could come to pick the plates. Another grumpy face from the staff member. Finally the desserts were good, really I won't complain because they were delicious but the lack of touch of that lady working at the restaurant ruined everything as well as the stone-like-pizza. I’m sad to leave Spain with this experience. I’m usually checking reviews before reserving any restaurant, so I went to this place pretty confident. Not only I did not like the place - no good vibes at all: cold looking room, no background music, cheap furniture… but when my plate came, vegan chorizo with fries, my disappointment was total. Potatoes were good, but the chorizo was over salted and uneatable. The waitress was walking around us serving others but never stopped to ask how was our food even though we’ve been sitting there minimum for twenty minutes without eating, with my plate that obviously did not look like appreciated too much. Finally we did not wait any more for our desert, and we stood up to go pay. Even then, the waitress did not even say anything about it, a word to try to apology or whatever. Just held me the check. Great starter (buckwheat pancake with wild mushroom) definitely worth recommending. A bit on the salty side but it's okay as I like salty dishes. After this very tasty starter the expectations for the main were high. Unfortunately the cannelloni with spinach were very disappointing. It tasted that it was prepared a night before and put into a microwave before serving. Seriously I had better dishes as ready made stuff from a local supermarket. But not only that. In comparison both dishes tasted as they were prepared by two different people. The starter was like: " I feel strong about tossing a bit of salt to this wild mushrooms it will definitely play well together".
