We had a great lunch at El Solet in Taragonna today. The menu included several first courses and seconds and yummy deserts. The cheese cake was fabulous. It was like a basque cheesecake, but not as tall. The servings were generous and delicious. The resturant is just around the corner from the cathedral, but off the tourist path. I paid 10 euros for a cola and a cold tomato soup (though that may be on purpose), but I didn't really enjoy it. The prices weren't displayed on the menu for these dishes.

The first waitress was very friendly, the second was horribly rude. I told her in Spanish that I didn't speak Spanish very well, but she kept going and seemed angry that I didn't understand her. My wife and I dined here late yesterday afternoon and the experience was absolute fantastic from start to finish. We went with the €16 3 course set menu and it didn't disappoint. For the cost we've never had anything as good on all our trips to Spain. Also a special mention for the staff, everything was done with a smile and nothing was too much trouble.
