This is a place to go if you want to feel a bit of the Italian home atmosphere in Costa Teguise. Simple and seasonal ingredients, slow pace and love for cooking altogether in the plate you get at the table. We went for dinner, place was not crowded, and offered a little “stuzzichino” made of grissini and olives while deciding. We picked a plate from the menu (paccheri with baby squids and pistachio pesto) and one of the daily off menues offered during the order, home made pasta (spaghetti) with shrimps and pistachio crumbles). Spaghetti were creamy, well dressed and delicate. Paccheri were al dente (NB: at the order ask for a longer cooking if you like a softer or overcooked pasta) and a bit stronger in their taste, combining the delicateness of the squids and pistachio with some the stronger taste of anchovies that are part of the sauce; delicious. We ended with the catch of the day (bream). Also the fish was good, slightly and shortly fried with seasoning herbs and served with fries and a little salad, letting you taste the fis as simple as it is.
Service: We were welcomed and accommodated by the only person in charge, as if we were guests of a friend. We were constantly receiving attention and care during the dinner. Appreciated.
Venue/ambiance: a bit noisy due to the position. I would love to see this place facing the sea, to combine the good food and the slow tempo with a romantic view.
All in all: do not look for a starred restaurant here; just find a very genuine and warm host and a bit of Italy...
Read moreWe had an amazing experience at this wonderful Italian tonight. We checked some of the reviews on here before turning up, and they were all true! We had a really fantastic time. We have two young children, age 5 and 7, and they eat early – so we were the first (only) ones in the restaurant. Despite it being super quiet, it could’ve been awkward, but the wonderful happy waitress made us feel right at home… had fantastic English, and being an Italian, had real passion for their food and the great little restaurant. As our children like food that isn’t too rich, the chef wonderfully made us a “cheesy pasta“, for both – which was so good I wish I could make it myself! I had a really good “traditional Italian” spaghetti carbonara, and my wife the Bolognese. All of it was excellent. So good, that we got dessert – something we don’t normally do, which was also excellent too. My thanks to the Italian chef, and Italian waitress who work here – I don’t normally review, but you guys deserve me saying something about how great our experience was!...
Read moreI loved the experience. The specials sounded interesting and had to be tried.
The service was by a single waitress but she was so efficient and friendly that it seemed as if she was dedicated solely to our table.
Just hearing her description of the dishes made me want to try all of them.
I eventually settled on the "black spaghetti ( bucatini) in pesto with prawns".
The flavours were rich and flavoursome, I was not disappointed.
There was also a good selection of Italian wines, I chose a bottle of Primitivo to pair with the pasta.
Dessert, again from the special menu, consisted of a very light and warm rum-baba and a large cannoli shared amongst the table; both were delicious.
A glass of my favourite Italian brandy (vecchia romagna) ended a very...
