My partner and I went here for one of our last meals in Moraira, and thought it would be romantic to have a lovely meal at dusk but it wasn't lovely at all.
They advertise fresh live lobsters in a huge tank in the center of the restaurant, so of course we went for that. I got the surf and turf, which consisted of a piece of steak that was basically just seared in a pan and raw in the middle, and 1/2 a lobster that was very overcooked and extremely small. My partner went for the whole lobster which they pre-crack for your convenience but the lobster wasn't fully cooked and very watery so you couldn't even pull the meat out of the shell. We were extremely disappointed so we brought it to the staff's attention and instead of agreeing, they just chucked my piece of meat back in the pan and brought it out completely raw and still cold in the middle. As for his lobster the waiter told us that sometimes their lobsters are just soggy.
When you charge 35 euros for a lobster it better be prepared correctly, and of a generous size.
They didn't offer to take anything off the bill, and didn't apologize for their lack of service. We walked away spending 133 euros, both hungry and extremely...
Read moreWe went there for dinner. Located right on the marina—not surprising considering the name of the restaurant—you can have dinner on the lower floor and then enjoy cocktails in the rooftop area with a chic view of the marina and the sea. This is essentially the ideal prerequisite for attracting a large number of guests. Unfortunately, this sentiment is evident throughout the restaurant—the service conveys the message, “We will receive your money regardless, and if not from you, then from others.” In short, the service did what it had to do, but nothing more. The food was good – I enjoyed the Spanish version of spare ribs, which were cooked to perfection at a low temperature and fell off the bone just by looking at them. The grilled mini green peppers as an additional side dish were also excellent. Here, I also noticed how unfortunate it is that in Spain you have to order bread separately and it is not a free standard part of the service. Conclusion: A beautiful location at the harbor with good food, but in my opinion, it needs a big upgrade in terms of the interaction between the service staff...
Read moreWe like to come here every holiday and are normally very satisfied. We arrived at 12:00 and asked whether it was possible to have lunch. It was, but we had to wait until 12:30 to order, as the kitchen is closed until that time (only breakfast menu before). Although all tables where free, they gave us a table in the back, saying the other tables were reserved (2 hours later all tables where still free). We first ordered coffee and waited until we could order from the menu. Around 12.25 we asked multiple waiters for the menu, but nobody brought it to us, but instead they replied vaguely about when we could order. When we finally ordered, we still had to wait quite long before the too expensive sushi came (almost 20 euro’s for 8 pieces) and it took even longer before our main arrived. The tuna tataki was very good, but the hamburger and fries were cold. They took away the fries and brought it back when the burger was already finished. During the whole we felt unwanted and like we bothered them by even...
