NOT AS GOOD AS BEFORE As a regular visitor to Torrimolenos i always visit this restaurant and today i returned once again. From the moment i entered the atmosphere was bad, no terrible! The waiters looked like they had no interest in being there or doing any work. We found a seat ourself and seated ourselves without 1 person even saying hello or welcome in a restaurant with 2 waiters and only 2 other tables this is unexeptable! We got served in a timely manner by a young waiter that seemed to have problems communicating it looked like he did not speak any spanish or english. My main problem and the reason i write this rewiew is my main course was very disapointing. I ordered exactly what i always order here on my first day Rogan Josh , Lamb , Medium for 9 € With garlic nan bread. When it arrived i was amazed 3 small cubes of Lamb and 2 slices of red pepper in sauce??? For €9??? . This is truly a baby sized portion not fit for an adult. The sauce was tasty but very very mild for Rogan Josh especially when I requested medium ( or did the waiter not understand medium)? The garlic nan was tasty but this a side and not the main dish. It is a great shame when i see a place like this that was once a great restaurant having a complete fail of kitchen and service standards. I can only hope that this place kicks its self back into what it was fast or it will loose regulars...
Read moreWe are in Torremolinos for a relax and recover week in January 25. A big part of that is finding new places to eat. Today we discovered Kathmandu Nepalese restaurant. It was difficult to get to as the area is being refurbished and the streets and lighting are poor. We are glad we persevered. We had an outstanding meal. Following the complimentary poppadom and chutneys/dips, We started with simple Meat Pakora which came in two varieties. They were delicious with perfect pastry. For main course, Joan had simple Butter Chicken. I wanted something “different” and with advice from our waiter I chose Nepalese Lamb Safari. This came on a sizzling plate and looked like broccoli florets at first glance. This was the mint and other herbs and spices which made the lamb beautifully green. The flavour was minty, spicy, lemon-sour, and was served with a simple curry gravy on the side. I had this with a sweet almond/coconut Peshwari Naan which balanced the flavour perfectly. Joan’s Butter Chicken was also excellent. Not too sweet, not too creamy, well spiced beyond mild. All in all a superb meal. And it was excellent value, I feel. With a glass of Rioja and two bottles of San Miguel the bill was just under €50. We were there very early (7 pm) so they were not busy hence the ambience stars = 4. Everything else...
Read moreI am British and I came here as I have really been struggling with food overall and needed something familiar and what British person doesn’t love a curry? It’s our national dish!
I ordered Keema Aloo which is something that isn’t on the menu but it’s what I always get when ordering from an Indian takeaway as I love it. The chef was more than accommodating and offered to make it for me however when it came out it didn’t look how I usually have it and looked more like curried scrambled eggs with potato, it instantly put me off so I hardly ate any of it but it was not the restaurants fault as they were so kind to accommodate to me, I am just a very fussy eater and eat with my eyes a lot rather than my tongue!
They also made me a nice side salad which was lovely I finished it.
My partner ordered chicken madras which he enjoyed and we both ordered pilau rice, again, I am not used to seeing pilau rice with yellow food colouring so that also put me off but it was nice regardless.
The staff here are so kind and accommodating it would be silly for me to rate this less than 5 stars and I would return again but I would order something else.
Thank...
