La Cantina Food & Drinks/ Restaurant/ Oceanfront — Restaurant in Torrevieja

Unfortunately we did not have a great experience. We were ‘sort of’ enticed as we were hungry and showed interest in the menu. We should have realised because the restaurant was not busy, but everywhere else was. I also thought that menu was quite expensive as the prices for starters cost the same as main courses elsewhere. We thought we were in for a quality meal. However we were handed a menu which was duplicated in more than one place and rather confusing. The waiter never returned and went to serve other tables. We witnessed him slamming menus down next to the till. My husband eventually caught his eye and he came over (without a notepad). My husband gave his starter and main course choices from the weird menu and the waiter promptly walked off. We had to call him back so I could give my choices. I asked for pizza with my own basic toppings (prawns & onions) but he said it wasn’t possible, so I opted for lamb chops. I could see him looking confused at the till and after 15 mins he returned saying he couldn’t find my husband’s main course choice. He appeared with another menu but this didn’t have his choice, my husband said it had disappeared and the waiter began to walk away, so my husband asked for the bill and we left. The weirdest thing was as we walked away I looked back for the restaurant name and another guy jumped out and tried to entice me in, so I told him what I thought. After reading the reviews I think we had a lucky escape especially as It was almost 9 Euros for a small Fanta and a Diet Coke. That’s why it was empty I suspect. Oh god where to start. We went for some paella and despite being 5months pregnant I was shoved in a chair next to the speaker and infornt of a pillar so I couldnt move my chair back and had no space, not to mention little fruits falling of trees onto the table. We wait nearly an hour for the paella while a man came in whaling away and then asking for money. I was than on the phone with my mum because my nan had a fall and a jazz player from the restraunt who could clearly see I was on the phone came and stood right next to me playing down my ear. I went to the toilet and staff all seemed to be frantic running around 2 of them knocked into me and one was pushing me along from the back trying to get past (again 5 months pregnant) when I got back 2 men out of uniform were just walking up and down drinking red wine, watered a plant, got a few plates, so they either worked there or owned the place and a tall lady kept prancing up and down taking pictures of her self waving her hair around everywhere for the 2 hours we were there and I could see other girls laughing at her, I felt some serious second hand embarrassment for her, she shown 3 people to there seat but besides from that couldn't figure out what she or the other men were doing there. It was pure choas. When the paella finally did come the chicken had big bones in and there stuff what looked like a grey bit of carcass. They used chicken bits that wernt even edible. For €26 aswell....

EVITATE QUESTO LUOGO! Ristorante per niente italiano! Trappola per turisti. Esperienza da incubo in questo locale. Io e mia moglie abbiamo richiesto, per iniziare l'antipasto di "patatas bravas" un tipico cibo spagnolo noto per il caratteristico e deciso sapore: ci hanno invece portato due piatti con normali patate fritte senza sapore accompagnate fa un contenitore con ketchup di pessima qualità. Ne abbiamo mangiate alcune e tutte le altre sono rimaste nel piatto. Abbiamo detto, in spagnolo (abitiamo in Spagna da sette anni e abbiamo appreso la lingua, gli usi e i costumi) al cameriere di colore che ha portato via i nostro piatti ancora pieno di patate che quelle non erano "patatas bravas" bensì semplici patate fritte senza sapore: non ci ha nemmeno risposto, grande maleducazione e disinteresse per le esigenze del cliente. Abbiamo proseguito con "arroz da banda con pescado y mariscos": cozze durissime, seppie di dimensioni microscopiche, quattro gamberi da condividere tra me e mia moglie. Una vera trappola per turisti.Ad un certo punto il cameriere senza capelli che stava liberando il tavolo accanto al nostro ha svuotato violentemente il secchiello che si usa per tenere il vino in fresco versando la rimanente acqua e ghiaccio nella aiuola con piante e fiori accanto al nostro tavolo; l'acqua è schizzata sui nostri vestiti e sulle nostre gambe. Il cameriere non ci ha nemmeno chiesto scusa. Alla cameriera allora ho chiesto se ci fosse "el duegno" il proprietario: mi ha risposto che il señor Antonio in quel momento non era presente nel locale. A quel punto è arrivato il cameriere senza capelli che aveva sporcato i nostri vestiti e schizzato l'acqua sulle nostre gambe con il dispositivo POS per il pagamento: ha lanciato il piattino con il conto sul tavolo e senza parlare si è portato via il biglietto con il conto; lo ho dovuto inseguire per farmi consegnare la doverosa ricevuta che qui pubblico. UNA PRESA IN GIRO DA SETTANTADUE EURO. -Patate fritte insapori per due; -una pessima paella da condividere in due; -due birre e una mezza minerale; gamberi all'aglio per UNA persona con 8 gamberi; STOP

Evitate questo posto: il cibo è di pessima qualità accompagnato dalla protervia e nessuna empatia del cameriere senza capelli che coordina e gestisce i suoi colleghi. Però apprezza e sbaciucchia solo le giovani clienti in minigonna.

L'altra sera in un altro ristorante "Sunset Beach" preso il paseo maritimo io e mia moglie abbiamo gustato una cena gourmet di elevato livello qualitativo in un ambiente raffinato e molto curato, con personale molto professionale, spendendo solo VENTI euro in più con antipasti raffinati, due primi di pesce pregiato, due secondi di pesce preparati con grande competenza, una bottiglia di vino bianco italiano (solo il vino Ventisei euro) e un trattamento da ristorante stellato, due dolci preparati al momento, un caffè, un bicchierino di liquore di erbe preparato dal ristorante; superlativo. Io abito in Spagna e consiglierò in ogni modo di evitare il ristorante"La Cantina".
