A Heartbreaking Decline After 20 Years

I’ve been coming to this restaurant with my family for over two decades. It’s been a cherished spot full of good memories, consistently great food, and warm service — until now. I recently made a reservation, genuinely excited to introduce two friends to a place I’ve spoken about with real affection. Sadly, what we experienced was nothing short of embarrassing.

The waiter who served us — a small, older man — was appallingly rude from the moment we sat down. Plates were slammed onto the table with an attitude that made it clear we were more of an inconvenience than guests. If a fork or knife was in his way, we were curtly told to “move it” — no pleasantries, no professionalism, not even basic courtesy. Just pure hostility.

When one of my friends asked for the bill and the other unknowingly asked again a few minutes later, his response in Spanish was aggressive and unnecessarily rude. We genuinely tried to understand and engage in Spanish, which none of us had an issue with — but what we did expect was a basic level of manners and hospitality. Instead, we were met with condescension and disdain.

We addressed our concerns directly with the waiter and also raised it with the management before leaving. Unfortunately, there was little accountability or real sense of concern — just more indifference, which says it all.

This wasn’t just bad service — it was service that actively made us uncomfortable and embarrassed. I’ve never had to apologise to guests I brought to a restaurant I’ve loved for so long. And that’s the part that really stings.

At the end of the day, I...

So disappointed with our visit to this restaurant tonight. 😞 we were seated on the terrace. Although booked for 3 people table was unset, two sets of cutlery only arrived, no condiments. Food took ages and the amount of chips on each plate was so few that we ordered an additional portion. Unfortunately we had to chase up the waiter twice for the chips which when they eventually arrived the steaks had gone cold . This portion equalled the total amount on the three plates combined. Patio Andaluz is not cheap and we all felt that it was a total waste of time and money. Two other tables up and left and another family commented as they passed us that the service was dreadful. I would have to agree. We paid up and went to another restaurant for dessert. We have never done that before which is self explanatory. We definitely will not be back. Inside looked inviting which may be a different experience but I think that we will give it a miss. Better experiences and value around. Sorry Patio Andaluz it was a miserable...

I would highly recommend Patio Andaluz as a must-visit restaurant in Rojales! My girlfriend and I have been coming here every year for our vacation and we always start and end our trip at this fantastic establishment. Why? Because they unquestionably serve the best paella in the area!

Yesterday, we once again had the pleasure of dining at Patio Andaluz, and as always, it was the perfect way to kickstart our vacation!

Not only is the food amazing, but the ambiance at Patio Andaluz is truly remarkable. The restaurant's charming patio area is adorned with beautiful decorations, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure that every diner feels welcome and well taken care of.

Whether you're a local or a tourist, if you're in the vicinity of Rojales, make sure to add Patio Andaluz to your itinerary. Indulge in their mouthwatering paella and let them provide you with an unforgettable dining experience. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Thank you, Patio...

It was by chance that we stumbled upon this place as we drove past. Quaint looking and very cosy restaurant which has both outdoor and indoor setting, we decided to sit indoors (check out pictures to find out why). Something as simple as Aioli was delicious and the croquettas were amazing! We ordered mixed croquettas so it came with jamon, mushroom and fish. Patata bravas had generous portion while the pizza were just mediocre. They have live music (of a man with guitar) playing during our visit and it seems like there is also love flamenco shows. Tried making reservations for the week after unfortunately they were fully booked. Guess we were super lucky to walk in and find ourselves a table to sit that evening! Recommended for families to have a fun night out (with live shows) or even for date nights :)
