The Captain’s Table, Punta Prima
Located on the upper floor of the Punta Marina Commercial Centre, The Captain’s Table is a family-run restaurant with a British-style menu and a laid-back, welcoming vibe.
Starters: We began with the garlic mushrooms and calamari with aioli dip. The calamari was a bit chewy, but the garlic mushrooms were a pleasant surprise—something different from the usual starters.
Main Courses: I had the Captain’s Fish Platter. All the fish was deep-fried, a little greasy, and quite plain overall. My wife had the Caesar salad with grilled chicken, which was fresh, tasty, and definitely worth the price.
Atmosphere: There was a bingo game going on outside in the tent, which gave the evening a nice, social feel. The outside of the restaurant isn’t particularly inviting, but we decided to give it a shot after seeing how busy it was inside. The interior is decent and clearly popular with regulars.
Menu & Pricing: The menu includes lots of specials and chef’s choices, with options like steak nights and set meals. Prices are very reasonable and there’s something for everyone.
Service: The staff were friendly and welcoming—no complaints there at all.
Overall Impression: It wasn’t my favorite spot, but it’s clear why it appeals to many. With affordable prices, friendly service, and regular events, it’s the kind of place where some people will definitely...
Read moreVery unpleasant experience. Before we sat down it was 2:55pm and they stopped serving breakfast at 3. We asked before we sat down if we could still order food. The waitress said yes. The lady who came to our table to take our order seemed more interested at leaving at 3. Once our food arrived, we started to eat it. I began to feel specs of water drop on my arms, i looked up and noticed we were under the toldo. To my surprise as I looked around to see where this watery substance were coming from, it was another waitress who was cleaning the tables infront of and the detergent was going sprayìng on our food. When we told the woman what she was doing, she vaguely apologised and began talking to another customer. My partner went to complain for us to then be told we are barred. and not welcome back. After waiting to settle the bill, I found hairs on my bacon. Photo shown below. I'm not really sure what their problem was with us, but if you can't be arsed to waiter at an efficient level. Then don't go into work. You ruin peoples days by this type of behaviour. I know it's a cafe and not a t star restaurant but a bit of common decency...

Do you have a baby high chair please?
Waitress replies “No I will have to go and get you one!”
Sorry for you having to do your job!?!?!?
We sit and the waitress says hi to the kids ( 1 and 5) I order water and I’m told what water?!?!?!? Yeah I like water is that a problem. She takes the rest of the drinks order then returns to offer baby a slice of bread (do I look homeless in here to feed baby some real food not bloat her with your bread that as wrinkled as you) and proceeds to goo goo and gag gag at baby when we’re just trying to have a nice relaxed family brunch. But no she needed a baby fix so we get pestered just leave people and their babies alone. Baby don’t know ya and don’t talk and certainly not to a shrivelled faced grumpy waitress.
Then the food arrived omg burnt eggs hard under skin, veggie sausage were nice I must say but everything else cold apart from the deep fried hash browns.
I would normally try somewhere twice before reviewing but I have seen enough and my stomach today agrees with me.
Happy dining folks...
