Normally I would give two stars, but after the hidious answer from an owner below to my girlfriend I changed my mind and give you one star for this approach and lies.
From the beginning - the guy who pitched us to restaurant when I asked him how big is tapas, he said that I can come to restaurant and as this is best restaurant in Tossa, if ill be unhappy I can stand up and leave.
Weird pitch, but fine. The guy in white suit was pushing a lot to buy a drink, and asked like 3-4times eventhough we politely thank him. Pushing for a quick order (eventhough there was no que to a restaurant and still few tables free) wasn't very nice as well but we decided to stay as promised quality of food convinced us.
Fish that my girlfriend ordered was good, my octopus was just decent, not bad but I had better ones in Spain (with cheaper price). Potatoes were pretty bland, lacking salt and a bit undercooked. When the waiter came back to ask us how is everything I have told him that the octopus is good but the potatoes not the best. His reaction was very unprofessional, he started walking away and answering at the same time waving his handsthat "octopus is important, potatoes are potatoes my friend" and something else that I haven't understood. If you're asking a question about your food, be prepared for any feedback, criticism. Very childlish attitude, that makes this experience even worse.
At the end - when they came to ask us once more about the experience (if everything was okay), they came both at the same time surrounding our table, like they would be scared of something - maybe it's normal here that you need two waiters in that moment? I just have never seen that before, and it made us feel uncomfortable.
The last thing - I have not even spent more than 3 minutes on my phone during our stay (i have checked photos how big portion of octopus you give before ordering, as the waiter couldn't answer my question precisely) which I believe was realitvely quick (around 30-40m from ordering to leaving the table?) neither my girlfriend (Im pretty sure that she haven't even reached for her phone during that stay). If you can't accept criticism, and agreed on your faults - it's unprofessional but it's your choice. But lying is totally wrong, and I wish karma will punish...
Read moreI had a reservation at this restaurant for 8pm. for 4 adults and 1 child. I specifically asked to be seated on the terrace and the person I spoke to confirmed this over the phone.
When I went to the restaurant at the reservation time, they told me that they would not let me on the terrace and showed me a table at the bottom of the restaurant in front of the bar. I told them that we did not talk like that on the phone.
The answer I received in return was shocking. I received an answer like "if you don't like it, don't sit if you don't like it, there are already a lot of people waiting, there is only this place" by a person who I guessed to be a waiter who did not know how to talk to the customer. I was in front of one of the rudest people I have ever seen in my life who never listened to me, who spoke shouting. He spoke in a humiliating way using sentences such as "If you want to sit down, sit down, otherwise we don't have to serve you, we already have plenty of customers, don't blah blah blah". Even though there was a child with us, other customers and even other employees of the restaurant were astonished by his behavior.
When I said to him "I want to talk to the manager of this place", he replied "I am the chef and I am the manager". Naturally, we left without sitting down.
When I called the restaurant after we left, the lady who answered the phone told me that their manager was not here today and would come tomorrow. I don't think that they will care about my comments too.
My suggestion to the customers who will come here is to come here by accepting to be humiliated, shouted at, and to face rudeness.
It is a disgrace...
Read moreBecause we have a small child, we ordered takeaway so we could enjoy a meal on the beach. The take away was no problem. But when we received our takeaway, there was no cutlery. I asked for cutlery and was then told, for the first time, that they didn't have any. What do you mean, no cutlery with a takeaway?! When I indicated that we would rather eat in the restaurant, because, well, how are you going to eat risotto with your hands? The waitress sighed and almost rolled her eyes. We felt anything but welcome. Because of the bad and annoyed service from the lady we couldn’t enjoy our food that much. That's why we'll never come back. Worst service we've ever experienced.
Note after respons from the restaurant: this had nothing to do with planning. We had a great planning with eating your food at the beach. The lady who took our order should’ve told us in advance that you don’t have any take away cutlery with your takeaway (which still seems strange to me, since we got a take away). If we knew all of this in advance we ofcourse would’nt have ordered a risotto and pasta but only pizza. It is also about the way she handled everything, again; with a sight en an annoyed face. If she was polite and wasn’t annoyed, then everything would be fine! The way you react as a restaurant to this review also says enough for me. It’s all about...
