TOURIST "DO NOT" GO TO THIS PLACE TO EAT!! Disappointed tapas bar ever !! Not to mention how long you have to wait(approx minimal 30-40 mins) you will be treated like waste. If you intended to sit on (seemed to be empty) available table you will be chased off right away by staff. These are preserved for local people. Not even to sit on empty chairs to rest yourself after long waiting you will be chased off by staff bringing new people to the table right away. If you do not speak Spanish its better to stay away from this place. We waited because we googled it and it has good ratings but the FOOD was really REGULAR nothing special at all(see foto). I still don't understand where the ratings come? In the end we wanted to leave and waited approx 20 mins just to pay the bill actually we could have just walked away but its not nice of course. We ordered deep fried shrimps and tasted ok but afterwards it smell like detergent in my mouth. I am a bit worried if i would be ok after eat it. In addittion after i came back to hotel, i found a few itchy spot all over my body after this tapas dinner where i never had before when eat seafood. I assured that the shrimps was not really clean or chemical used to keep it fresh. See foto.
The place filled with free style sort of people, backpackers, drunkies, Loud noise, break glasses, yelling, shouting. It was in a dark corner and so it to be out of range. I have a local said to me that they would prefer to keep Valencia to themselves and prefer that tourist stay out if it. I argued that tourism has bring a lot of country income, not only for economics but also for shops restaurants hotels etc. They said they don't care so okay. I walked away a bit stunt felt strange. Check out pics how regular the food is. I will not come...
Read moreWe were staying nearby so came here on an evening we were too tired to venture far. It doesn't have the greatest location or views but is a very popular spot. Groups larger than 4 have to wait for a table or reserve in advance. The menu is quite basic in that what is stated on the menu is what you get with no extras or garnish e.g. tomate is literally a plate of sliced, salted tomatoes. But it offers a good range of dishes and many vegetarian options. The cheese board was good. The pimientos de padrón were excellent. I recommend the berenjena and gambas. The portion sizes are very decent. It's definitely set up to share multiple plates and I would recommend 4 plates between 3 people as a minimum. The service is functional. They seemed very understaffed with only 1 guy serving all tables and we had to catch the waiter to...
Read moreA tapas joint recommended by a friend who visits Valencia often.
Very reasonable prices and mainly frequented by locals - I believe we were the only tourists at the time and the restaurant didn’t appear to have an English menu. Would recommend practicing some basic Spanish to communicate with the staff.
The relatively short menu has all the usual classics (do keep in mind there’s no paella here). My friend and I shared croquettas, patatas bravas, fried cheese, goats cheese salad and bbq ribs washed down with 1L of sangria, with the bill coming to around 60 Euros. Simple but tasty, the dishes were nicely prepared and came out quickly.
We left satisfied and I would...
