I read a number of reviews before trying "Pan de queso." Many mention the friendliness of the employees. Unfortunately that wasn't my experience on more than one occasion. The first visit I went inside to get 6 pieces of pan to take away. The woman behind the counter wasn't friendly at all. She gave the impression she didn't want to be there, or maybe I was bothering her. The second visit I also went inside to order two pan to take away. The man at the counter asked me if I wanted "cortado" which I took to mean as cutting the bread open. So I replied yes. I had no idea he was talking about coffee. He was upset when I said I didn't want coffee. To mitigate the situation I bought one of the coffees. The last time I went, today, the same man was inside at the counter. I asked for one pan to go and one to eat there, and a "cortado" now that I know it's a coffee cut with milk. He asked if I were going to sit down, so I sat at a table. After he served another table or two he came to my table and asked what I wanted. I was surprised and said I had already ordered. He told me I had to order again. I needed to be somewhere else, so I told him nevermind. He started to argue and I left. The people who work here could really learn something about guest service from "Mayan Coffee" where the employees are always friendly. The pan de queso was good, otherwise I would give them 2-stars. By the way, they haven't been open at 9am to my knowledge and I walk by there several...
Read moreThis place definitely had a nice atmosphere, with a pretty good menu too. There was a lot of choices of drinks with reasonable prices too. When we got our croquetas, it wasn’t cold, but did need a bit of heating up. When I approached the woman behind the counter to ask if it could be heated up she told me that it was not possible. It was pretty simple just to put it in the oven for a couple minutes. Aside from that, we had a good lunch and would give it a 10/10 for...
Read moreThis is hands down my favorite café in Valencia! Do yourself a favor and go here - and make sure to taste the Pan de Queso! The service and friendliness is unmatched, and everything on the menu is so-so-so delicious. My go-to order quickly became pan de queso (you need to try it!) & café bombon, which they already remembered from the second time I went there. It's rare to get this level af "small town friendliness" in the middle of such a busy city....
