Restaurant Ferro — Restaurant in Valencia

What a disappointment! Following the reviews we thought that this was a very good restaurant! We booked a table at 8:30 pm. It seemed that the personnel were not ready and still trying to organize the evening. That took almost half a hour. In the meantime we had to listen to a radio station probably favourable of one of the waiters. The temperature inside was rather cold with no heating. We ordered paella but the quality was mediocre and indifferent. On the top of that my wife ordered to drink a glass of white wine. She decided to change to red wine after she drunk it since the quality was not good. The waitress tried to fill the same glass with red wine without changing it!! That was ridiculous and unacceptable!!! Although, the restaurant was almost empty until 10 pm that we left with only 3 tables for some unexplained reason they put all the customers in tables at the corners...

We arrived and they sat us down outside as the restaurant was fully booked but I wouldn’t recommend visiting if that’s your only choice as it smells of sewage and there are many flies around. Staff provided some food suggestions however they failed to communicate that the paella prices were for individual persons (yet they don’t serve singular portions) so it was quite a surprise when we received our bill. They also didn’t have the Valencian paella as some of the ingredients weren’t in season so they replaced it with a paella of chicken and rabbit with two local vegetables (there ended up being one tiny piece of rabbit for us both). If you’re visiting Valencia for the first time and you haven’t yet to try paella, you must definitely come here.

We tried the paella traditional to Valencia , paella valenciano, and it was incredible. It was different from all the other Bass we’ve had on our trip in Spain but better.

Also, be sure to try the Mastello at the end of the meal. It’s a sweet gin that’s not strong at all.

The service was incredible. When we arrived, the restaurant was full, but they were to make us accommodation we just had to wait a little bit, 15 minutes. Especially Alvaro. He was very knowledgeable about the dishes at the restaurant very proud of the cooks techniques just overall very attentive and hospitable.
