I finally made it to the iconic Cafe De Las Horas to indulge in the renowned Agua De Valencia, and let me tell you, it was an experience worth sharing!

Let’s dive into the drink first. I had tried it at another restaurant before, but it came off as overly boozy and just okay. But here? Wow! The Agua De Valencia at Cafe De Las Horas is a revelation. It packs a punch with its alcohol content, yet it tastes almost deceptively smooth—like there’s hardly any alcohol at all. Now I completely get why this drink has garnered such a reputation in Valencia; it's easy to sip and enjoy, but definitely something to approach with caution!

Now, about the ambiance—this small restaurant is a visual feast! The decor transports you to a world reminiscent of French royal palaces. I found myself mesmerized, unable to take my eyes off the stunning surroundings. Just a heads-up: be prepared to wait in line, as this popular spot doesn’t have much seating. But trust me, the experience is absolutely worth it. If you find yourself in Valencia, you absolutely must visit Cafe De Las Horas and try their exquisite Agua...

Witnessing an Incident and being on receiving end is completely two different thing. My experience is that i was extremely disappointed with the service we received at this restaurant. From the very beginning, the waitress treated us with clear disrespect — ignoring us, delaying our orders, and making us feel unwelcome. Her attitude went beyond simple rudeness and came across as racially biased, as we could clearly see other tables being attended to promptly while we were left waiting and dismissed with unnecessary shade.

When we finally raised our concerns with the manager, instead of listening and taking the issue seriously, he immediately dismissed everything we said. His refusal to acknowledge our experience only reinforced the feeling that he was unwilling or unable to understand what it’s like to be on the receiving end of such treatment.

No customer should ever have to feel discriminated against or brushed aside, especially in a place where you expect hospitality. This was not only unprofessional but deeply disappointing, and I would strongly caution others before choosing...

I had pretty high expectations due to the mostly positive reviews. But no... Never again! The interior is great, but that's about it! First we had to wait 15 minutes to be served (and the cafeteria was half empty). We asked for coffee and cakes, the waitress brought us only coffee. The cakes - with artificial whipped cream - were given to us only after about 20 minutes. When we had to pay, the waitress did not give us the check, but a white sheet of paper where the amount was handwritten! Unbelievable! And, frankly, the most repulsive thing was that almost all the waiters were dressed very inappropriately for the place they represent (turn-of-the-century Literary Café, the Parisian Café, the English Tea Room, and the American Cocktail Bar - as it is written on their website). One of the waitresses was dressed in dirty Adidas sweatpants.... The other in a striped T-shirt, shorts and sneakers. You can see them in the photos. The waiters were more interested in each other's company than in serving...

We were lucky to find a table for two around lunch break at this historical and famous Valencian coffee house. The interior has touches of Parisian literary/historical cafes and mystical charme given by the blue ceiling with stars (something that resembles Giotto’s Scrovegni Chapel). The inside is full of baroque paintings and touches. Our sangria made with vino tinto was really balanced: not too alcoholic and a perfect size for two. We were happy to receive bread and olives with our jamon Serrano. As it wasn’t stated in the menu, this was an amazing surprise. The patatas caseras came in a plastic bag and were definitely natural and homemade (although for the future it would be great to move away from plastic). The olives were so good that we took a whole portion. Prices were really fair and we couldn’t recommend this place more. We also weren’t pressured from the staff to leave and could chat and enjoy the interior a bit longer. If you can, seat inside, otherwise you’ll miss the whole charme of the cafe.
