Our hotel recommended this place for exceptional local food at reasonable prize. We were “welcomed” by a guy who showed us a table inside then seated, but we didn’t get the menus. After few minutes and other customers been seated we asked for them and finally we could start to see what they offer. The waitress approached us and we asked for some recommendations, but she left us saying that she couldn’t spend more time with us and she went to another table seated after us. We ordered at least our drinks even no beverage menu was provided, 1L of sangria, but she came back to say only by the glass available because no more jugs left. During that a table next to us was waiting to order as well and another one totally forgotten. Food came after half an hour, calamari wasn’t good, sour and paella showed up in more than 1 hour, salty, burned, same happened to the table next to us. We asked for a bottle of water, we got it straight up, but she didn’t bring glasses at all, so we took them from other tables. At end she asked how was the meal and we explained to her our disappointment, she said to tell that to the kitchen, no apologies and we saw the “chef” leaving before than that. Table next to us got free “sangria” for the extremely long waiting, we entered at 21:40 and went out at almost midnight. The “welcoming” guy gave us the bill after asking what we ordered because no clue at all and nothing in the system, a lady came with a bill which was not belonging to her table. Maybe that night the staff was a bit confused, but no professional at all and quality of food definitively better for the high feedbacks they got so far. I do not recommend it at end, go if you have no expectations and...
Read moreProbably the strangest dining experience of my life. I booked a table to have a nice dinner with my family. When I got there I was told I had no reservation there, but since the place was almost empty I was seated anyway. A couple of minutes later my family arrived and asked for our table too but were sent away at the door, because strangely the waiter couldn’t put two and two together that several people asking about a reservation for 10 people may be from the same group. Ten minutes later my family came back, and after a good fifteen more minutes we could order some drinks. The waiter was clearly annoyed at us for trying to order something they didn’t have (in Spain it’s common that there is no drink menu and you have to guess), apparently so much so that he didn’t write down half of our orders. The first drinks arrived about twenty minutes later, we had to remind him twice about the rest, at which point he even accused us of not ordering them in the first place. The food took more than an hour to arrive which seemed quite long considering that the place was only half full, but the wait wouldn’t have been so frustrating if we didn’t have to feel afraid to at least order more drinks while waiting, thanks to the condescending and annoyed looks we were getting for absolutely no reason at all. We were nothing but polite, there was no language barrier, made no trouble of any kind, weren’t drunk at all. The paellas we ordered were fine, but wouldn’t come back for it. When paying, we saw in the open reservation book that our reservation was indeed there.🤡 I understand that everyone has bad days but we didn’t deserve this treatment....
Read moreOur family of 6 (4 kids, 2 adults) was excited to try authentic paella in beautiful Valencia & were happy they could accommodate us during a busy time a couple days ago. We saw the menu which stated €17.50, minimum 2 people, price/person, one rice per table. I wanted my experience to be true seafood paella, but our kids wanted the veggie. I asked the waitress if we could please order 2 types; I mean c’mon, we all know rice is extremely inexpensive & we saw all the tables with various numbers of people all with the same size paella pans on their tables. It seemed like you got similar portions whether you are 2 people vs 6. She told us NO, only I pan per table. I explained about the kids wanted veggie rice & also asked if they could just make half portion of each type & put them side by side in the pan. Again, it was a NO. I then asked if we could split our family into 2 tables so we could follow their posted “rules” & they wouldn’t allow this. Sorry, but for €17.50/person (no discount for kids), we were not going to waste paella that our kids wouldn’t eat, & I also wasn’t going to settle & pay the same price for veggie paella as I would the seafood paella. Their business model was lacking & they were not customer service oriented so we left & found another restaurant to try. We would NOT RECOMMEND this establishment. You can find many other nice restaurants that treat their customers with care &...
