Café Madrigal — Restaurant in Valencia

After trying to dine at another restaurant where the floors were disgusting and sticky, tables hadnt been bussed, plate they served my first dish on was dirty, and second dish had hair in it (the moment I got up and left, to come 'home' to Cafe Madrigal), I realized that I have never expressed just how much I VALUE Cafe Madrigal.

Their staff has always been super friendly and kind. The food has always been exceptionally delicious. The dishes and dining area have always been clean. The internet has always been strong. ....I could go on and on.

So yea. I just needed to give 'audible' gratitude, instead of keeping it to myself.

Thank you, Café Madrigal, owner and staff, for giving me a place where I feel at home.

It was a total accident we sat at this nice looking, highly starred place that turned out to be VEGAN [horror music playing] place. We were in ignorance until when we already ordered drinks - even menu says ‘chorizo’ so who would notice small print ‘vegan cafe’ in the logo. Anyways, we really wanted the drinks and server lady was very nice so we tried vegan tortilla and banana cake. Surprisingly these were quite good. Normal for cake and Almost like normal for tortilla. If I didn’t know I would say it’s just a bit dry normal one, luckily there was good garlic sauce to lube it through. Drinks are good. They didn’t manage to convert me but I think we can all live in peace. And load up with bacon and eggs...

I love fully flavored food in particular when the flavors are balanced and in support of each other. That said, the red curry with chickpeas and pumpkin was outstanding. In fact everything was delicious. The vegan quiche had me puzzled but the egg substitute was spot on and the smoked tofu packed every bite with flavor while the crunchy acidity of the side salad added texture and freshness. The lentil hamburger came without buns, tasty cashew veganese, a bit of veggies and a hint of side salad, which demoted the burger to a low calorie snack. An apple tart with whipped vegan cream had to add the missing calories to make the burger a meal. The fast, English-speaking service is an additional plus. Make...
