Dulce de Leche — Restaurant in Valencia

The cakes and coffee are very tasty. But I had a bad experience and attitude from the restaurant staff, they did not return my certificate. 13/04/2025 at 12:10 I was in a cafe and when I went to the bathroom, I left some of my things so that it would be clear that the table was occupied: a coat on a chair and a dance course completion certificate on the table. When I returned from the bathroom, I saw that the table was clean and the coat was gone. I went to the waiters because the guy sitting at the next table said that the waiters had taken the plates and belongings. The first thing I remembered was the coat, so I asked for it and they gave it to me. Then I returned to the table and later remembered that my course completion certificate was on the table before. As the waiters took all the things away, I was sure that they had the certificate. When I approached them and asked for my certificate back they asked me to step aside saying they couldn't find it but when I explained that they had already given me my coat back they said it must have been thrown away and that they couldn't help me if I wanted to see the cameras I would have to file a police report. The desserts and pretty much all food is amazing, BUT, not all staff is trained well, they did mistakes with my order and took ages to deliver and to fix it, it got to a point that I just went myself to take everything as I was tired of waiting over 25 minutes to get my food which didn't even come all together but spaced by 10-15 minutes as they weren't ready for the amount of people that came in the place (yes is a busy place but train your staff better and you won't have problems) Also the disappointment was that after finding out about the mistake the staff was busier arguing amongst them than apologising, in fact not only they didn't apologise for the mistakes and delays in my meal but they were actually quite annoyed that I politely pointed out at the order mistakes and time of serving. But this is a common problem in Valencia in my experience, they really don't know about customer service (again in my experience I lived 9 months in Valencia and I hardly found any decent customer...

I went in to pick up a few cakes to takeaway. There were four people working behind the counter. None of them were particularly busy and none of them seemed that bothered about serving us. I asked the girls in front of me in the queue if they were being served and they complained that nobody wanted to serve them. I went over to one of the girls called Claudia and asked if she could serve me. And she just ignored me. I should’ve left at that point, to be honest. After about three minutes, she decided to come over and serve me.

I live around the corner and the cakes are very good but the customer service is so bad that I wonder whether it’s a toxic work atmosphere or if the staff are being paid on time.
