I've been to this place a few times now, both for food and just drinks, and each time I've wanted it to be as cool as it looks, but it's always underwhelming.
Asthaetically it has a gritty, urban style, with the grafitti and open air courtyard layout - it is a cool venue. But it has no vibe at all. No real character. It's like those people who cover themselves in tattoos and piercings, and dress in the latest urban fashions in the belief that looking cool is a genuine substitute for having a personality. It isn't.
This place could have some lounge music or a dj playing some deep house, funky beats or downtempo tunes in the evenings. It could have a bit of live music, an outdoor barbeque grilling up off-menu langostinos, sepia or burgers - just something once in a while to complement the venue and give it an identity. But instead it's just beers served in petri dishes, meat on slabs of wood and chips in a steel basket - all of which has been done before, all very derivative. There's no imagination in the concept here. And whilst the food is slightly north of ok, when you factor in the now infamous mediterreanean oxymoron that is 'Spanish customer service' (working in a restaurant/bar doesn't require the sullen disdainful look of a catwalk model), you just wonder why...
Read moreNo point to say which food I ordered, the portions are all the same and are shamefully small. Also to point out, NO ENGLISH MENU AT ALL. It isn't a gourmet restaurant or holds a michelin star. It's a grill. A small piece of shoulder pork, 14€, unseasoned half portion of fries, 5€. The pork tasted good but came almost cold. Not a kid friendly place either. The dishes should never cost as much as they do. And do never order the T bone steak, the bone weights 700g and there's maybe 150-200g of meat on it, for the price of 90€, NO SIDE. You have to buy side for extra. So your paying 14-90, just for a hunk of meat with nothing to accommodate it without paying extra . Toilets are also terrible. Bin next to the seat up, reaching to your size so you smell real good those wastes, and no seat to sit on. And they smell awfull . Passed by the kitchen on the way aswell, and door was left open, the inside was quite messy and dirty, and for a place that charges these prices, it should be shinning, so sanitary wise, they are also way off.
Definitely will never be back, and I highly will...
Read moreAll in all disappointing experience. We heard about that place, so we were curious to try it. We had ceviche as a starter which was a bit boring. For the main we ordered entrecote. It looked good, but unfortunately both dishes were cold so we returned them. Mine was still cold, when it arrived the second time. The two side dishes were quite small portions, the pimientos de padrón were of pretty big sizes. The torrija was pretty good as well as the cremaet. The staff wasn't really attentive and not able to recommend an accompanying glass of wine to the dishes. We had lunch outside of the terrace. They had umbrellas and fans that were distributing steam to cool down the place. Unfortunately the fans were arranged that way that they blew the water right on the chairs and the guests, so that everything was wet instead of nicely hydrated. Had to change...
