Marinetta Mia holds a special place in our hearts as one of our all-time favorite Italian restaurants in Valencia. Despite our last visit being about five years ago, we were delighted to discover that the food remains consistently delicious, and our recent experience was made even more enjoyable by the funny and amazing service provided by our waitress.
During our recent visit, we opted for the menu del dia, and it was a culinary adventure that left us thoroughly satisfied. To start, I ordered the cold creamy soup, which had a unique twist of curry that added a delightful depth of flavor to what we suspected was a squash-based soup. The combination of warmth and spice was a pleasant surprise for my taste buds.
For my main course, I relished the pappardelle with tomato sauce and eggplant. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the tomato sauce complemented the tender eggplant flawlessly. Each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors, showcasing the true essence of Italian cuisine.
My husband, John, began his meal with a refreshing salad, which featured a medley of fresh ingredients that showcased the restaurant's commitment to quality and taste. For his main course, he enjoyed the Florentina ala Norma, a Mediterranean-inspired dish bursting with the flavors - stuffed ravioli shaped pasta. The combination was a true symphony of flavors that left him thoroughly impressed.
To round off our dining experience, I indulged in the classic Tiramisu. It was a decadent treat consisting of layers of mascarpone cream, coffee-soaked ladyfingers, and a dusting of cocoa. Each bite transported me to Italy, showcasing the skill and expertise of the kitchen.
John opted for the pear in a red wine reduction for his dessert, and it was a delightful combination of poached pear and a tangy red wine reduction. The balance of flavors was perfect, and it provided a refreshing end to his meal.
What made our visit truly exceptional was the funny and amazing service provided by our waitress. Her warm personality, sense of humor, and attentiveness added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience at Marinetta Mia.

Read moreExtremely rude staff. We booked a table the day before. Were given a tiny table literally at the door where everyone else stands as they come in and queue. We asked politely for one of the tables that were more spacious and with COVID dividers. The waitress stormed away dramatically and put her hands over her head as if she cannot handle us within the first minute of our arrival, a very rude and uncalled-for gesture. We were told we should have asked in advance on the phone, and we said that as tourists we didn't know they had bad sitting places to be avoided. We were given a choice to eat at another table until the other party will come in 30 minutes (the waitress shoving her watch in our faces yelling “30 minutes and you are out!”). We asked if that means she will not sit anybody beside us and she raised her voice saying it is her restaurant, her rules, she will decide and not us, and she will give the table to whomever she wants. We asked if she was the manager, and she walked away and completely ignored us. We insisted and were told we are...
