MESTIZO - Café de especialidad is a true hidden gem in Valencia that left us utterly impressed during our visit. As we were compiling our article on the top Specialty Coffee shops in Valencia, we couldn't resist stopping by to experience their offerings, and boy, were we glad we did!
The coffee at MESTIZO was exceptional, truly embodying the essence of specialty coffee. One of the telltale signs of great specialty coffee is the absence of a bitter aftertaste, and MESTIZO delivered on that front effortlessly. We didn't find the need for any sweetener, as the coffee's natural flavors were perfectly balanced and satisfying on their own.
Though our hunger got the best of us, and we forgot to take pictures of their delicious tostada con tomate y aguacate, we can't help but rave about its taste. The combination of flavors was harmonious, and the freshness of the ingredients shone through, making it a delightful culinary experience.
The iced mestizo cafe, made with dulce de leche and cardamom, was a revelation! It proved to be the perfect respite from the Valencia summer heat. The blend of sweet and aromatic flavors was nothing short of a refreshing indulgence. Meanwhile, John's iced latte was equally delightful, showcasing the baristas' skill in crafting consistently excellent coffee beverages.
The ambiance at MESTIZO was inviting, and the service was warm and friendly. The staff was knowledgeable about their offerings, and their passion for coffee was evident in every interaction.
If you're in Valencia and craving a memorable specialty coffee experience, MESTIZO - Café de especialidad is a must-visit destination. Read moreWhen we arrived at the restaurant with my wife and our 10-month-old baby on a hot day, all the tables were occupied. We waited in line behind a group of elderly ladies — though we were sitting about 3–4 meters away with the stroller, as it wasn’t practical to stand right behind them. A hostess told us clearly that we would be next after them, so we waited patiently.
A little while later, a group of young people arrived and, after speaking with the same hostess, somehow ended up second in line — ahead of us. Despite us being clearly visible the whole time, the hostess seemed to completely forget about us for no apparent reason.
It’s really disappointing to see that the staff at the entrance can’t manage something as basic as a waiting line. Some of the younger locals seemed to be fighting for a spot, even if it meant pushing out a family with a small child.
We’re giving one star and want to warn other families that this might happen. Very...
Read moreCute coffee and brunch spot tucked away on a small street. Dog friendly which is a big plus!
There’s seating outside, inside, and at the back. The back is a great place for laptop work as it’s quiet and moody. I preferred the main inside or outside to get some fresh air and natural light. It’s great for groups of all sizes. The tables inside and outside could easily fit groups of 4, which is rare in Valencia lol
There’s a coffee bar so you can just stop in for coffee. They’ve got a brunch menu that can accommodate many dietary restrictions. I got the tomato and bread with a side of salmon. My bf got the vegetarian bagel. The bagel was essentially bread with a whole in it (not anywhere close to New York style) but still really good!
I really like the vibe and the low maintenance menu. I recommend...
