Bar Los Picapiedra — Restaurant in Valencia

I first came here more than 10 years ago and it hasn't changed. It has a lovely chilled atmosphere with the candles and low lighting and low ceiling on the mezzanine level. Staff are efficient and friendly. You order at the bar so it's nice if you're in a group and have different hunger levels or drinking paces as you can go and order and pay for yourself. Instead of ordering food at the same time, we'd just go and order pinxos whenever we felt like it. They heat them up when you order them. You get people playing cards or board games occasionally as there's no pressure to leave. Prices are very good. The pinxos are around €2.50-3.50 depending on what you choose. I believed the good reviews. Came all the way here on purpose. Waited outside for about 20 minutes. Then spent another 40 minutes inside, waiting in line at the bar. The line was chaotic — whoever was more aggressive got served first. I couldn’t take it anymore and politely asked the manager for just a sandwich and a Coke. No response at all.

I feel forced to leave a review and walk out. Such a shame. I really thought we’d get along. I was planning to live in Valencia…

We were wandering through the old town thinking about what to 'snack' on during the evening & came across this delightful bar. Having been drawn in by the colourful display of 'pinchos' on display in the window, we immediately ordered 3 each, knowing full well that we would be returning for moreb .
