Great food, but doesn't live up to its price.
Drinks took quite a while to make but were nice. Croquetas de pollo were great, but the center was still a bit cold. Gamba's al ajillo tasted great, but most restaurants serve them fully peeled. Here we got them with the tail still on which I did not expect. I prefer "clean" dining. Or at least give me something to clean my hands. Main dish was the entrecote. It was served on a hot stone, beautiful. It had too little salt to my taste, and it came without condiments like salt, pepper or aioli. Tiramisu for dessert was perfect. Maybe the best tiramisu ever. Pro: the restaurant looks great and serves potentially good food. Con: you can have a great meal anywhere in Valencia for a lot less money. It is no problem to pay more, but I expect a higher level of cooking.
Overall I liked the food, but it could have been better if they didn't make so many little mistakes. For the price the quality should be higher so that is why I give 3 out of 5. The food is 4, sometimes even 5 out of 5, price and mistakes pull...
Read moreWhen we arrived they lost our reservation. The waiter seemed very aggitated and we had to wait for 15 minutes. He finally moved soms tables together and we could sit outside which was nice. They gave us the lunch menu but when we wanted to order at 15.45 they told us we couldn't use the lunch menu anymore so we ordered from the regular menu. First we received our side dishes and then we one by one got our own food. We didn't receive our food at the same time, there was 60 minutes between the first and the last persons meal. At the end we we're still waiting for one person (after having asked 2 times and they constantly said one minute one minute) so we wanted to cancel the last dish since everyone was ready and the person was not very hungry anymore. This was not possible (the women ignored us) and forced us to wait and then when we said we wouldn't pay for the last dish the woman started insulting us in Spanish and said she would call the police. The food was fine by the way (salad with brie was very good) but the waiters are...
Read moreI wouldn't even like to give any star for this restaurant. We would like to have a quick coffee. The waiter turned the customers away while the place was bloody empty. We were told we couldn't just order some coffee, it's for eating as well only. What????? I understand that when the place busy they would want to make it the most profitable by only filling the table with people who are eating. But that time was just very empty. Not even 1/4 of the tables were filled! And ofcoz I know if the place were full we wouldn't just go there for a coffee. We know the manners. We will be happy to be turned away....It's understandable.
Wasn't there any more clever way to deal with customers, rather than being rude and turn them away?
Don't they think? We might not eat today, but if we see the food and looks good we might come back later some other time..... But when we were turned away, definitely we will never go there...
