Summary: Nice burgers, service needs improvement

We went as a party of two. The local was getting prepared for the Halloween and there was a small delay because of this. There was a heavy chemical (silicon / thinner / paint) smell inside the restaurant so we sat outside. They need to consider getting fully ready before the opening hours to avoid delays and uncomfortable environment for the clients as well as the employees. That smell is good for no one.

We decided to order Bastarda and Golden burgers. After ordering the Golden Burger, the waiter said; "Ok, one Golden Burger and...?", we added "... and, one Bastarda". The waitress replied "Ok, but so that you are aware, Bastarda comes with one slice of meat. Is that ok?". We answered that it would be alright and started to wait.

After some minutes, we were served with a Golden Burger and another empty plate. We waited for a while, wondering; and asked where the other one was.

The reply from the waitress was "Oh, I just heard the Golden Burger. We all can make mistakes, we all have faults". First of all, it is quite unlikely for someone to ask clarifying questions on an item that she did not hear at all. To add on top, the attitude should not be trying to create arguments with a passive aggressive attitude but rather to apologize sincerely and ask if there is something one can do to make it up (A simple "I am really sorry, I forgot / mixed (whatever...). Is there something we can do to make it up to you? Shall I order right now so that we can serve quickly?" would be more than enough).

This is a friendly burger joint in a great locale, but we decided to do Para llevar (take out) due to one member of the party not feeling well. We ordered online and could pick the time we wanted to retrieve our order— all very easy and efficient. You can even pick how you like the burger grilled (more pink or more well done) I was greeted immediately and had order in hand within less than a minute.

The American burger has crispy bacon, American cheese and caramelized onions, and the flavor is superb. We picked regular fries but next time we will pay a little extra for the sweet potatoe fries. The Good Burger (TGB) is across the street, and it may be hard to choose which is best burger outright …but I love TGB and The Black Turtle is now a new fav. En lo que al servicio se refiere, durante toda la comida fue atento, y sin excederse fue lo que se espera de un servicio en este tipo de restaurantes. Asimismo la alta demanda de pedidos para llevar, no hizo que se ralentizara la cena en ningún momento.

Centrándonos ya en la comida, aunque con un poco de indecisión, finalmente decidimos pedir el Combo 100% Casero. Un plato que te permite probar una extensa variedad de los entrantes que tienen en carta, pero en cantidades más reducidas. Asimismo con el combo también venía una salsa BBQ, y una Ranchera bastante decente.

El primer componente del combo que probamos fueron los Aros de Cebolla Caseros Extra Crujientes. No me convencieron en exceso, y por separado no los pediría, pero es de los poco salvable del combo con una puntuación de...

Tras los aros, decidimos probar los Dados Crujientes de Queso Brie Rebozado. Nada que ver con otros entrantes de este estilo de otros establecimientos parecidos. El crujiente indetectable y en sabor en conjunto no me convenció...

Si los dados de queso no me convencieron las Patatas Bravas Indie fue con diferencia lo peor del combo. Las patatas (aunque mejor cocinadas que las que acompañaban a la hamburguesa) estaban demasiado hechas y la salsa que las acompañaba no nos gustó a ninguno de los cuatro que las probamos. Para terminar el combo probamos los Chicken Tenders. A pesar de ser pollo rebozado sin más, fue el mejor de los cuatro entrantes, ya que el pollo estaba bastante jugoso.

Después del combo pasamos a las burgers, entre las cuales yo me decanté por la Golden Burger. A pesar de que yo la pedí poco hecha, y para nada me la sirvieron poco hecha fue de lo mejor de la noche. Puntos negativos: El mencionado punto de la carne, el bacon que no estaba nada crujiente y las patatas que la acompañaban, las cuales estaban blandas como si llevaran días hechas. Puntos positivos: El pan brioche que sin ser nada del otro mundo estaba salvable, el queso cheddar, el cual estaba muy bien fundido, y sobre todo lo que más me gustó de la hamburguesa fue la salsa bbq – mayo de la misma.
