Barbaflorida cafè — Restaurant in Valldemossa

An amazing experience but be prepared perhaps for a Spanish relaxed wait. We would comeback in a flash but some of our fellow diners had to wait a bit. The provenance of the restaurant is locally sourced fresh produce from close toValldemossa or the Balearics. Only 12 items on The menu (albeit with some variety on the tostados). The staff are amazing with an unrivaled setting over looking the church in the square. With covid 19 we were asked to sit outside as only 50% capacity indoors. Take an outdoor seat for a superb menu and meal. I’m a pescatarian and my partner loves meat. We had tomato and Buffalo mozzarella (the waitress owner and partner of the chef apologized it wasn’t from Valldemossa) but she didn’t need to - it was one of the best I have ever had anywhere so tasty with a peppery Provençal flavour, watercress dressing; next hummus with sweet potato and flat bread was yum!; then patatas bravas was superb, made with individual potatoes and a beautiful sauce; my partner had some fried chicken in a Japanese style - reportedly amazing. The wines were simple as you’d expect only 3 choices red/white or rose. We had the white and it was fab for a young white wine. We stumbled on the place which didn’t show up in Google or any restaurant reviews, a real find. Enjoy! All for ~€46...

I had a terrible experience with service on this place. The guy serving was angry with us because we took a place to sit when there was still leftovers on the table from a previous cliente. He inpatient asked us to stand up so he could clean the table. 3 bottles and a plate. I ordered first a piece of cake and he said that first I need to order a drink. What? My husband ordered a double espresso that came already cold. Took around 25 minutes for the cake and double espresso to come. Then we ordered the check. 10-15 minutes latter still nothing and the guy was standing in front of the café doing nothing. So we went inside to pay.

The cake I ordered was delicious. But when the attendant treats you as they are doing you a favor and are not friendly at all is difficult to make a good review.

Very disappointed due to great review...

We were looking forward to do a coffee here. The bar looks nice, coffees look good. Unfortunately the staff was able to ruin the experience from the first second. Firstly by reacting rudely to a question where we could sit on the terrace and then telling us to sit inside. Then inside when waiting for 5 minutes without anyone acknowledging our presence we asked for a coffee and were told to sit down because ‘all their staff is outside’. It’s really too bad. Probably good coffee but you don’t pay to serve the staff. Apparently a coffee place where the staff is too cool to serve coffee politely. But if you want to get pushed around before your first coffee and want to have a negative start of the day this is a good...
