Sa Mata Paelles & Cuina Mallorquina — Restaurant in Valldemossa

Bad service. Bad food. Avoid. Booked a table a few nights ago and were turned away when we showed up as they said we had no reservation. We thought we would try again tonight and after a rather rude/abrupt telephone conversation, managed to book a table again. Upon arrival we were once again told that we didn’t have a booking until we insisted a table with a reserved sign outside was for us. They didn’t even check the name, and there was no sign of any booking log/system. Possibly the worst hospitality I have ever witnessed in a restaurant. Totally uninterested and not once were we checked on for drinks etc. Waiter brought the wrong drinks and did not clear empty drinks or plates. The Food was somehow worse than the service. Shared a meat paella among 3 people which for a start came with only enough meat for 1. Although the rice had some flavour, I managed to find pieces of chicken bone within every mouthful. Absolutely disgusting at the best and a downright health hazard at the worst. By far the worst restaurant we ate at in Valldemossa and a real shame after expecting some authentic paella dishes. I ordered the „Meat Paella“, but what I got was a bone paella. Just ridiculous. When I complained about the amount of bones in the chicken meat, I got a separat plate to put the bones on. I had to pay for the meat paella, eventhough it had a ridiculous amount of bones in it. You can see on the picture, how many bones I had, after eating approximately 1/3 of the paella.

Response to the answer of the owner: When I asked for the plate to put the bones on (which by the way wasn’t brought with the meal in the first place), there was obviously a chance to apologise for the bones in the meal and to take it back. However customer service obviously doesn’t matter in this restaurant at all. Yes, I ate the whole plate, because the way I was treated, made me feel like it was normal, that there are bones in the paella. Seemed to be a nice place but turned out to be different. We ordered drinks and got them pretty fast - all good until then. After that noone came over again so we could order food. After 15minutes of waiting i asked the waiter (women with short hair) if we could order food. She gave a sign to the other waiter and we thought OK, someone will surely come in some minutes. After another 10 Minutes of waiting we showed a handsign to her, she ignored it. After another two/three Minutes we gave her another one - still nothing- Also asked her collegue if we could order food and she nicked her head and went inside.

We waited another 5 minutes until we asked for the receipt. She didnt understand the matter as her english was really bad. In the end she apologized but still... in the end this is not a place i...
