We had booked a table for 4 people and we recommend doing so if you want to visit here, as many people trying to do walk-ins were being turned away. We were welcomed in however were sat on what felt like a make-shift table right beneath the serving station from the kitchen. The waiters were regularly coming over to collect food but were reaching and carrying plates over our heads!! Also, a lot of takeaway pizzas were being collected from here and this seemed to take priority over the people dining in the restaurant. Despite this quite heavily foot-trafficked table location, we were left sitting with no menus for just under 10 minutes (unsure if there were enough menus to go around the restaurant and we were possibly waiting for other tables to finish with their menus?). We weren’t even asked about drinks while we waited for a menu. Eventually, we were given menus and ordered drinks however we then went on to wait 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Tables of people were coming in after us and being served faster than we were. Starters arrived after 25 minutes of ordering - we ordered the mozzarella and the bruschetta. Mozzarella was nice however the people from my party who had the bruschetta said it was cold and soggy (unsure if these starters really warranted a 25 minute wait to prepare?). The main meals did then arrive quite promptly after the starters but the restaurant was significantly emptier by this point. The main meals were lovely - pasta carbonara and arrabbiata were delicious and we also had the BBQ pizza which was lovely. Overall, the food was nice and the only complaint food-wise was regarding the bruschetta. Service and atmosphere however was quite poor. The staff seemed rushed off their feet and prioritising takeaways, and this alongside the uncomfortable table location is what let the experience...
Read moreWe are just back from a holiday in Playa Blanca, our first time in Lanzarote. I need to eat gluten free as I have Coeliac disease, and so it's good to see many menus now have allergens listed which makes things easier for me. I had tried a few of the seafront restaurants over the 10 days and whilst there were options I found some of the food to be a bit lacking in flavour and portion sizes which is disappointing especially considering the prices being charged. So to try to find somewhere realty good for dinner towards the end of our trip I searched for "best restaurant in Playa Blanca" on Google and found the L’Artigiano Forno Ristorante at the top of the list. This was great as the location is just a short 5 minutes walk from our hotel and the gluten free options were abundant. We had one dinner and one lunch at this lovely restaurant and my boyfriend was delighted with the delicious pizza, which was made with care and clearly the freshest ingredients. The gluten free seafood pizza I had was delicious as was the chocolate dessert. The prawns in sizzling garlic oil were also fantastic, we had one portion to share. I did not enjoy the carbonara as much, possibly just my own taste, but it is so good to have the option of gluten free pasta. The service was friendly and attentive, and the price was very good value. This restaurant was a great find, and the only one we repeated over our 10 night stay. Definitely drop by if you are holidaying in...
Read moreTo me there's a big difference between pasta and pizza that's been created with care and attention, versus something mass produced or from a chain restaurant. Trust me, this is some of the best pasta and pizza we've had anywhere in the world. We went here 3 times during our holiday (including our last night) and each time was a treat. Consistency, quality, flavour were all fantastic. I know it sounds over the top to talk about pizza and pasta in this way, but when you try them, you'll know what I mean. The front of house team is so welcoming and friendly that the whole experience is just thoroughly enjoyable. The only thing I'd change is the lighting, which, depending on where you sit, can be a bit too bright. But this is nit picking. The wines are great and good value. The Dorada Especial is so good. The desserts were really tasty. And the icing on the cherry on top of the whole cake is that prices are extremely reasonable. If you're in the mood for an Italian, don't hesitate, just...
